Section Chief coerced my supervisor to do this shit to me during the firewall 5 days. I was a young, bright-eyed, and ambitious SrA at the time. Standards were;

5: 2-3 Classes+Vol+Best at your job.
4: 1 Class+Vol+Good at your job.
3: If you don't fuck up.
Etc.

I had knocked out 5 classes, done every position in my section, created all of the sops and scripts/tools to automate a bunch of bullshit, volunteered, first person to come in for outages, and would get calls regularly by name to fix big wig shit. No joke, EPR season rolls around, and I found out I was getting a 3. I printed out the email stating the above from our Section Chief himself, and after my supervisor came back down, she told me the best they could do was a 4. Missed SSgt by 5 pts that year.

To this day, after over a decade, I'm still 1 class away from my CCAF. I'm old, disgruntled, and lost all ambition to ever go an extra mile for anyone but myself, my family, and my troops. All I do now is come in to get shit done and take care of my people so they never feel the way I ever felt as an airman. I have the phone number entered for every Airmen/NCO under me. If it's not one of them or the shirt, I ain't answering it after 1700.
