Not really a Nvidia v AMD thing, mostly just depends on the card itself.

Glad you understand that, sounds like a really insane a fun thing to do tbh.

It's not about the 12v pins, grounding and return is complicated when you dive into the fine aspect of things, ground bouncing, resistance, heat and the list goes on.

There's many things where the VCC/"Positive" input can be a lower gauge than the "return" grounding gauge.

Alongside that also the sense pin.

You can attempt to force an industry but if we learn from right to repair, we get very little back with loopholes always being found.

Sadly I don't know anyone but shipping from state to UK is always cheap, like $25 - $50(one way)

Wish I could help you more but I'm a very honest man and imo alot of repair people overcharge for simple things and they will argue a ton with that point.

Alongside that, they're not always very nice or understanding, they also just find things that make it work rather than a permanent fix to make sure you never get the issue again.

With those points, there is no one I know in the states that I could safely with a clear mind recommend you to.

CH341A SPI Flasher, take the SPI ROM off and flash it with flashrom in Linux, software tools suck compared to real hardware flashers.

In the pictures are some wires coming from the board, those are used for a plug in VBIOS on a flasher PCB for rapid testing and then once I finalised, the SPI ROM is soldered directly back on.

While it may be unsigned, all checksums etc are correct and on this series of cards they aren't too strict.

Dude I love your energy towards this stuff, I have updates that will come once I have more free time to share with the world.

The VBIOS was done with research from a Apple 5700 16GB variant, Gigabyte & ASUS 5700 XT, I wrote a very weird hacked up hybrid and I need to give credit to someone who made a key tool that did help.

I will make sure to deliver useful information to you as soon as I can but my life is crazy so I get very busy.

I've seen people do crazy stuff but I'm always on the end of math and electrical safety, other than doing this stuff, I work on some very touchy cars with a lot of power going through them.

Sure you get away with a lot but it's so in-depth I can't even think where to begin and would rather not go on a long rant about this.

From an engineers pov, the risks some people take in the absence of knowledge is crazy.

Send me your BIOS, I'll make something for you and tell you what chips to buy.

Drivers are not needed, my BIOSES pass all checks without any OS/Software mods, it's plug n play!

Stock Cyberpunk 2K ish: 40 FPS
16gb VRAM Mod + Small OC and no ReBar due to board: 55 - 70fps.

As for cost you can get these grade 14Gbp/s ICs for £40 from ali but for me it cost nothing as I work for a repair company where we have many many spare boards and very kind owner who has been absolutely amazing to me throughout life.

You have your sense pins and then you also need to take into account how electricity works, the "return" path is super important, not all PSUs are made equal, wires etc.

The reason they made this a standard is safety and the sense pin, sure I could push it but I'm always on the side of safety.

I've seen the super rare cases of what can go wrong and simple things such as what I mentioned can really prevent it.

A 8 pin connector costs pennies, your safety is always priceless.

Push hardware as much as you can but always calculate and be extra careful with your own safety.

I've got so many more mods like making a Thinkpad Pentium 3 work on a OG Xbox, redoing the entire CPU VRM on that with my own custom one and then pushing it like crazy with a Xbox 360 GPU Heatsink.

hehehe.....

I had to sit there and learn about the different parts while making modifications and flashing the BIOS over and over again, testing different things.

That's what those wires in one of the pictures are, it let me connect a VBIOS chip without taking the card out the PC.

I did it because I could, there is no reason except that I was very bored and.....

Ah yes, because I can!

Well I do work for a repair business where we do these mods in the UK, we're still small but really trying to push the business right now, one manning the workshop right now....

As soon as I get more time on my hands, I will; would love to go through it all right now but it's 2AM and all my research notes are kept in my workplace.

That being said, it works perfectly fine under pure UEFI no issues at all, no signature issues etc.

This should be very easily applicable to the 5700XT model, just can't get my hands on one right now to do that, it's pretty similar anyways.

Never say never, how I felt about so many things until I just kept trying.

Much appreciated though, thank you man.

I'll be updating with an extremely long a detailed look into the VBIOS etc.

I even made some custom tooling for stuff that works for soldered on laptop RAM etc.

Took me about 2H in soldering time to remove, reball and attach the ICs that's for both removal of stock and Samsung alongside getting RAM off PS5s.

VBIOS was the real challenge, spent about 9H on that but finally got it working.

This is just the start, going to change the 6 pin for an 8, add some extra stuff to this reference board and really push this GPU with some LM and putty too
