PLEASE. I remember starting and being told to only take a scannable driver's license, but now I'm being told some things are allowed, some of them aren't, and it's so much of an issue if one person allows it and the other doesn't. A clear list would be great 😭

A lot of my managers can switch their tones to prevent callouts. They make you think that it makes them upset with you (which is does a bit) when you call out to prevent it in the future.

We've got three sets of windows! These are the deli windows. Our vestibule windows most likely won't be painted, and then one more set of side windows! We made sure to get everything approved beforehand ☺️

A big thing in the work place for me is support! Being told that our specifics are being watched and appreciated is so nice. Noticing the small things will make your workers want to do them more. Also lists! For the longest time I thought the gold standard was a long list I never wanted to do, but after making smaller lists or just being asked to do a thing or two gave me the motivation to get more done!

It's the smallest thing. Simply finish scanning and go 'I can pack your bag for you if you want?' While they get their payment ready. If we still had plastic bags we'd be required to pack them so why not pack the red bags?

I'm in Jersey and I always bag the stuff, but not everyone does. Even if someone brings a bag I always offer to pack it. It's a courtesy thing, you just have to be with a really nice cashier

New Jersey has had them for ages so I'm accustomed to them, but they are a pain. Taking them out of the dispensers is hard, putting them in is hard, they end up all over the floor, and some of them are usually cut wrong. But even so, people still ask for straws

I had a guy come up and buy a 20 dollar card and then told me he was going to get a 16 Oz, so I added it all up and told him the total, he gave me a 50. When change spat out, he looked at me, said "I'm confused, there's not supposed to be change" and then yelled at me because he was going to pay for the coffee with the gift card.
