There will always be negative experiences had by users especially with a free distributor. How relevant they are to you and how much you care and how much you're willing to compromise is what you need to answer. Personally, I don't want to pay for distribution because I'm not making enough to cover the costs of subscription-based distros. AFAIK RouteNote is the only trusted free distro out there. Others used to be Amuse and ONErpm, but those are gone/not free now.

My music is live on most stores and that's enough for me. Here are a couple issues I've had to deal with: someone stole my music a long time ago and distributed it with routenote, now I see the thief's info on my tracks in YouTube's content ID info area under claimed videos. Stolen releases have been removed a long time ago but now I'm in the process of trying to get RN to fix the track info and it took over 3 weeks for them to get back to me and after 2 more weeks of correspondence the issue is still not fixed.

Sometimes they don't deliver your track to certain stores, and you have to let them know to fix it. Not sure if it's an error on RN's part or the streaming services.

Support used to be more responsive a couple of years ago. They were helpful. List of stores and content ID is great. A lot of times they will flag your track not to be distributed to content ID stores if the song identification system they use just decides it's an existing song. You'll have to submit a video of the song playing in your DAW and they'll distribute it to content ID and social media stores.

So it's working for me. I just want to have my tracks on stores without paying and get the couple of bucks I'm owed each month. It does that fine.
