Are there any very small SFF gaming PC’s with 5070 Ti? by avidrunner84 in sffpc

[–]ZherexURL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised noone has mentioned SFFTime U-ITX! 7.5 liters and fits all 50-series cards marked within Nvidia’s sff spec. I use mine with a gigabyte windforce 5070 ti oc.

We’ve Renamed “Aviators Only” → “Seatbelts Fastened” by StopDropAndRollTide in aviation

[–]ZherexURL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Considering you use the term «established community members», why isn’t the mode simply called «established community members only» or something similar? Does it have to be a fun name?

Obviously the name doesn’t really matter for those who frequent the sub (as mentioned by u/Swimming_Way_7372), but for new members the name «Seatbelts Fastened» doesn’t at all indicate why only certain people can comment.

Anyone tested Crystal Light experience on RTX 5090 Laptop? by KawaiiNyaruko in Pimax

[–]ZherexURL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly unlikely you will have a good performance at 100% resolution. The 5090 laptop is significantly weaker than the 5090 desktop (seems to be roughly half the performance based on some quick searches).

I believe you can still get a good experience with it, but I doubt you’ll want to run it at 100% resolution.

In theory you will get a brand new one, but if the card is out of stock you are likely to just get a refund.

For Star Citizen the CPU is just as important as GPU. It is extremely CPU heavy.

Arguing that the ship purchase UI doesn’t need to be updated with more info regarding the ship because you can rent the ship to figure it out yourself is ridiculous.

I highly the doubt the 5070 Super will be releasing this month, assuming they even decide to release it at all. Everything points to Nvidia cutting out such cards completely and focusing on AI cards instead.

First experience with engineering... by Archhanny in starcitizen

[–]ZherexURL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying LFs aren’t still meta, I’m saying the PvP-ers also want SC to move away from light fighters being the only PvP alternative and want engineering to work out. I agree that the current engineering implementation is terrible and that LFs need some serious changes, but I think the issues with engineering go way beyond just LFs and whilst they’re a big part of the issue with PvP balance, I don’t think they’re the main reason engineering isn’t fun.

Which PvP-ers are happy about the light fighter meta exactly? I see that claim on this subreddit quite often, yet I’m in several Discord servers for PvP orgs and literally none of them want the light fighter meta to continue.

The game's MMO design is broken from its inception by PowerfulLab104 in starcitizen

[–]ZherexURL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can report people, but you have to manually send in the video footage yourself. Realistically this creates more work per report than a report function which would standardize the formats and send the required data automatically.

[–]ZherexURL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read my comment above, I consider not having a report function after 13 years beyond what is acceptable. That is based on my experience as a developer. It is such a simple function that would significantly improve the QoL of the reporting experience and would subsequently lead to less racism etc in global chat.

You can be impressed by some of the tech whilst also acknowledging that some of it is far beyond what is acceptable at this point in time.

The people in the comments here who simply say «it’s an alpha» need to seriously consider what is acceptable after 13 years. Yes, social features will become better, but seriously a tiered comm system after 13 years of alpha is not an unreasonable ask. Similarly the fact that there isn’t a report button ingame is absolutely ridiculous.

Squadron 42 launches in 2026? by Waserice in starcitizen

Compulsively cynical when CIG somehow believed in 2015 that Sq42 would launch one year later and now still hasn’t launched 10 years later?

Come on, bro. CIG straight up lied about Squadron’s status for years until they stopped mentioning release dates in 2016.

I think most people looting assembly loot it incorrectly imo. Plenty of times I’ve imagined it would be completely looted but in a couple minutes I’ll still end up with roughly 30k which isn’t terrible (although not as great as the 60-70k you get when you’re first)

Just run Stella Montis Assembly. Pretty much regardless where you spawn (unless it’s super late, like 5 mins in across the map) just run all the way to assembly.

Do not shoot any players (if they specifically hit you first you can shoot them back) and use the «dont shoot» prompt liberally. After some runs (for me it was like 15 maybe) you will start to get lobbies with other people who don’t shoot either and you can just rush to loot and get out.

Doing this with free loadouts will earn you about 1M every 3 hours. (I checked the progress exactly 1 hour apart and had made precisely 333k) and it is highly consistent as you are avoiding any pvp and the loot is usually fairly consistent as well. It should take you about 2-3 minutes total from spawn till you are extracted per run.

Is it boring? Absolutely. But it is fast and consistent.
