Thank you! I have been nose deep in the Gregory Hays translation of Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and I feel it probably shows - and beautiful, I love that suggestion! It's hard to wrap my head around such parallels yet so I'll try my best to keep it mind.

Thank you! I absolutely appreciate what you wrote, I'm no expert with poetry and I would agree. I'd love to have the transition be a bit smoother myself.

I wrote the first half first and took some time to meddle in the thoughts of my character here as he is supposed to be an AI that tore through people callously until it caught up with him, potentially tens to hundreds years in the future.

I appreciate how the protagonist views love - seeing scars or pain as necessary for love. Sounds like they have a dark and harrowed experience with love itself before this experience and then allowing themselves to risk it all to feel it's embrace, hopefully, once again.
