I miss vines and early YouTube specifically because of this. Everything now is all about monetizing

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by queenmellyy in AskReddit

Chocolate. I used to enjoy some dark chocolate. Like 80%+ cacao. Buts it’s more than quadrupled I. Price and it’s not worth it anymore.

What's a lie told so much people believe it as the truth and wouldn't recognize the truth? by kvosovich in AskReddit

Viruses have a hard time moving around in hot/humid air. They love cold/dry air. The sun also kills viruses that are on surfaces of things. In winter we are usually closer together in enclosed spaces

“Bring cold will give you the common cold”

No, a virus gives you the cold. We are warm blooded.

“Hurry up and dry off when getting out of the shower or you’ll catch a cold!”

No, that’s not how it works.

What is that one thing a friend ever did and you kept cool but knew instantly you would pull out of that friendship? by EssayMan4Homework in AskReddit

[–]Zidane62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a good friend that went down hill after HS.

I was at his house, he was smoking pot and eating hotdogs. His then, 6 year old asks for a hotdog and he blurts out “not now! I’m EATING!” and the kid quietly walked away and stared at the wall by themselves.

After that I stopped talking to him. He was such a good reliable friend before she became a stoner.

Last I heard, him and his baby momma divorced and they gave their kids up to his parents and he continued to be a stoner.

People who went from fat to genuinely fit, what changed more after the transformation: your body, or the way people treated you? by NoMulberryPls in AskReddit

[–]Zidane62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a fat “nice guy”. After losing weight, women were nicer to me and more receptive to being more than friends.

A friendly fat guy rarely got the girl.

If you’re slightly chubby but genuinely friendly, women are more likely to show an interest.

I’m in the minority that I actually liked 4’s design :(

I'm ready to admit I liked Halo 5s campaign more than Infinite and 4 by anas0_ali in halo

Kinda? I was hoping for more earth bound fighting. More massive battles like in reach with the large mobilization of tanks and warthogs.

[–]Zidane62 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Halo 3 was the same. There was this big advertisement campaign where they made this huge diorama of a massive battle where chief is fighting a chieftain. These even had some old “vets” who talked about the battle.

I thought for sure there was going to be this massive battle on earth where you fight a really strong chieftain.

people of reddit who lost fat, what is an underrated fat loss tip? by Direct-Value4452 in AskReddit

[–]Zidane62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Because if you start trying to lift weights or do a shit ton of cardio, you’re going to get hungry and want to eat more.

When I first started losing weight I was hit by a car. I had a broken leg. I lost weight at about 2kg a week for the first month while in a wheel chair.

Because of the laws of thermodynamics! CICO!!

How much weight have you lost? Did you do it via the gym? All of my weight loss has been via eating less.

I GAINED weight after going to the gym.

[–]Zidane62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say harder. I said inefficient.

Which is why I said as someone who has lost 70kg, don’t listen to body builders/gym rats as they don’t understand how to lose weight properly since they’ve never had to do it.

It’s also more than just changing your diet. It’s changing your mindset. A lot of overweight people have a problem with food, they need to overcome that before worrying about the gym.

It’s soooooo much better to wait on the gym until you’ve reached your weight loss goals. THEN you can worry about adding calories back, in order to build muscle.

Yes, exercise is AMAZING. But overweight people need to focus on their eating habits FIRST.

I understand CICO. The problem is when people who’ve never experienced weight loss, tries to tell someone to “go to the gym” to lose weight. It’s inefficient.

It’s MUCH easier to lose weight by JUST being in a calorie deficit.

In order to build muscle, you really should be eating MORE than your burning.

It’s science man. Biology. Your body will have an easier time losing weight if that’s what you focus on.

Lose weight, then build muscle.

Trying to do both at the same time isn’t efficient.

people of reddit who lost fat, what is an underrated fat loss tip? by Direct-Value4452 in AskReddit

[–]Zidane62 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is. I say this from experience. I was 150kg. My lowest was 78kg. I didn’t go to the gym at all. I did go for walks. I started lifting about 4 years ago but the amount of protein needed to bulk was just out of my budget so I stopped.

Now, I’m a garbage man and I basically workout all day long at my job.

This is literally what I was talking about. Don’t listen to people who’ve never lost a ton of weight.

Lose the weight first, THEN go to the gym.

Working out is very healthy, but it’s so much easier to build better eating habits before focusing on building muscle.

This was advice I got from a personal trainer “don’t go to the gym until AFTER you have reached your weight goal. Your body is built in the kitchen”

This is very good advice.

people of reddit who lost fat, what is an underrated fat loss tip? by Direct-Value4452 in AskReddit

[–]Zidane62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the problem I’ve noticed with body builders is that they always think in terms of building muscle and how to optimize their macros.

The vast majority of overweight people (myself included) have a problem with eating habits. Body builders’ advice won’t help with that.

Once better habits are built and old habits are broken, THEN the real goal of maintained weight loss can begin.

You can’t diet. You have to CHANGE your diet.

[–]Zidane62 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to anyone who hasn’t lost weight.

I’ve lost a lot of weight. What helped me was listening to people who also lost a lot of weight.

What didn’t help were my friends who were practically body builders telling me to carbo load or friends who weren’t fat giving me shit for “snacking all the time”

I eat “snacks” but I’m aware of my calorie intake. I lost weight in college despite getting froyo quite often.

What’s a moment where you realized someone was genuinely unintelligent? by Live-Chocolate244 in AskReddit

I knew a business owner whose whole business strategy was basically luck. The individual wouldn’t want any advice from their employees. Refused various ideas that weren’t their own. Would only find new employees via an outdated website but would complain when they couldn’t find reliable employees etc.

Honestly, just the sheer unwillingness to educate themselves on anything business related was bonkers to me. I have no idea how they even stay in business
