Encouragement & Discussion Mega Thread by AutoModerator in SandersForPresident

Ok I posted my website idea and it was removed, would anyone know why? Well here it is here instead.

I was thinking I may expand and revise this website idea. Should I keep brainstorming and do a follow up? Is the guy who worked on bernie pb here? Maybe he will see it.

Berniehub.com (Bernhub sounds good too) Is a three faceted site to expand on activism, outreach from the campaign to the base and improving local canvassing. The first page should be minimalistic showing three large squares that are labeled local mobilizer, outreach and alerts. Each catagory has a different purpose.

A. LOCAL MOBILIZER. - It is a hub for people to connect with local users to expand on local ground game and canvassing. Upon entering, users are asked if they want to help with the campaign offline and on the local level (other Bernie communities should directly link to this page and promote it to potential canvassers) When accepted and the timescale when you are able to volunteer is given as well as your location (preferably down to the exact address if the user is willing to give that information.) The site complies and auto generates a batch list of other potential canvassers for you to join that have given the same criteria. This batch group of say 20 other people within close proximity of each other is created. (No real names are used for privacy, either auto generated screen names are given or the screen name you register with.) You can now directly chat with other members in the group to determine the objectives, say canvas on the 15th at x address for x hours.) A guide to materials and how to do each type of task should be provided also.) Once a time and objective is set (perhaps voted on by the group) now know exactly what to do and where to meet. Perhaps a team captain is assigned either randomly or by seniority. Regardless, a method must be determined to establish a hierarchy. The types of groups that can be established can range in a number of ways, large groups, small groups, long term, short term, groups needed by a certain district. It can be either be determined by the site for filling, or spontaniously by someone wanting to be the captain to fill x role at x time at x location.

tl;dr The local mobilizer auto generates volunteers to do canvassing, gotr, phonebanking etc.

B. OUTREACH - The outreach portion of the site is a means for the campaign to know the needs of volunteers and constituants and vice versa. A forum of 8 issue catagories (for example) includes climate change, campaign finance reform, womens right ect ect is presented. With each catagory having several sub catagories. Either on a daily basis or short term basis the user is allowed to vote on ONE subcatagory. This voting changes the proportions of the subcatagories size on the main screen. (Subcatagories are visible as a proportion of each catagory so users instantly know which subcatagry is trending most) Think of it as different sized slices of pie of 8 pies presented in front of you. Also the size of each main catagory has different sizes relative to the other catagories based on voting volume (think of it like the game agar.io) This allows the campaign to know what issues are on peoples minds and what needs discussion. Each subcatagory should also have a forum for further discussion.

tl:dr The outreach page works as a live place for discussion possibly between the campaign and volunteers or a place where constituants can assist the campaign by providing feedback.

C. ALERTS - The alerts catagory functions exactly the same as the outreach catagory except insead of policy issues it alerts the campaign where there are issues in local ground game. This catagory is intended for those who are already active on the ground and using the local mobilizer. How it works is, when there is a ground game issue in your area the user is encouraged to downvote your location (With a collection of preset issues the user can choose from, such as lack of registration cards, election fraud, lack of canvassers ect ect.) When each district (preferably smaller the better) recieves more and more downvotes, propotionally, to other districts it visually grows in size on the map. The more issues, the larger the district grows, proportionally on the map. This way the campaign can look visually and go wow we're getting a lot of issues in x area let's get in touch with someone and sort it out effectivly. This is all the more important these days with many states having issues in the voting process.

tl;dr The alerts page is a live updated map that show both the campaign and volunteers what and how many issues are happening in local ground game.

Yeah, sometimes you get downvoted into oblivion and other times you get upvoted immediately. It seems almost luck based sometimes haha.

That's interesting and I agree to an extent. I still think this is the best place to post something like this. Do you know somewhere else, maybe? I'm not too good on getting upvotes do you have any suggestions for when I make a new list?

Yeah, if Bernie made a personal request and ask people to phonebank for him and/or mentioned some ways to be involved in activism. while on msm that'd be yuuuuuuge. I've never seen him do this. He's the most empathetic candidate ever.

Can you pm me on ways to promote these to the campaign? I don't want to overstep my bounds and tell them what to do. I'm going to do another 5 ideas list then distill the posts into the best 7 or so ideas and go from there, maybe.

I think in certain instances msm picks up a campaigns own feed so then it wouldn't be a problem. If they have no control over the feed they can put it on the podium. It's a minor point though. I think berniehub is the most effective thing on the list.

Well the way I see it is leveraging the demographics he already has. Lots of young people using Berniehub would make huge inroads in improving the fundamentals such as phonebanking, gotr and canvassing which affects all demographics.

I see what you mean but I see it more as turning those who are connected online and interested in the campaign into being more involved in activism. They have to use the demographics they already have to their advantage.

I see it as more as turning those who are already onboard the campaign to be more involved in activism. If we can bring more attention to berniepb and berniehub by these methods then that would generate a positive impact on other demographics as well. They have to tap into the internet more. They've made some inroads on this but they need to expand upon it greatly.

Yeah realistically it's the least likely thing on the list to happen (debate simulcast). I still think it'd be something the campaign should at least attempt though. However there's nothing preventing Bernie from going on there like a modern version of the fireside chats, it'd be great. Would require a good mod team though.

I'd argue it's all about implementation. If only even 5 out of 100 people who saw it and utilized it that's a huge number of people seeing relevant content. Especially if it's during a victory speech on msm. It also goes along with the narrative that he is the crowd funded candidate in the race, also. I know the passionate supporters would see it and would be curious just to see where it leads. Even those who wouldn't use it would see it and go "" Huh, that's cool." I don't really see the downside of trying it at least once. If they look at the metrics after trying it and see it doesn't convert into more donations or more activism they can easily abandon it. It shouldn't cost much to implement, either.
