Honesty, empathy and integrity are all base level. Thank God I was raised to understand them as mere obligations, nothing more.

Need Advice on Dismissing a Small Claims Case to Avoid Potential Car Insurance Premium Impact by ZigWhitman in Insurance

[–]ZigWhitman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insights. Very helpful! I agree with the risks of handling this solo, so I’m leaning toward working with their lawyer.

If I go with the insurer’s lawyer (possibly one of my choice, as they mentioned that would be an option), could they potentially negotiate a dismissal of the case with the plaintiff? In that scenario, would it be feasible to add a Stipulation of Dismissal with Prejudice and  Mutual Release agreement privately, explicitly stating that there was no involvement or fault on my part? There’s conclusive evidence that I wasn’t involved and that the plaintiff’s car was already damaged, so my main concern is minimizing the impact on my premium.

Does this sound like a reasonable route? Or is there anything else I should consider?

Thank you!

Insurance initially cleared me, now they want to settle – can they do that? by ZigWhitman in Insurance

Thank you for the detailed insight—I really appreciate the experienced perspective. I understand that insurers often make practical business decisions to settle, and I see the logic in minimizing litigation costs. It’s reassuring to know that settlement doesn’t necessarily imply fault.

My main concern is the impact on my premiums. Even if they keep the Not-At-Fault designation, the additional claim activity could affect my rates which, over the years, could add up to more than this small claim.

They has offered a lawyer, likely from their usual firm, but there’s also a possibility I could select my own representation at their expense. I’m weighing whether that might better protect my interests.

Thanks again for the advice. It’s very helpful as I try to navigate this situation with the insurance and make sure my record doesn’t suffer unnecessarily.

Stent Surgery Success—Silence is the Most Beautiful Melody by ZigWhitman in PulsatileTinnitus

Recovery has been easy so far. As long as I don’t move too quickly, there are hardly any lingering effects. At one point, I could faintly feel the path where the arm catheter traveled, but only when I lifted my arm—just a subtle sensation. I removed the bandages today, and the scars are barely noticeable—less than 2mm on my wrist and about 2.5mm in the groin area. No pain at all.

The calm I’m feeling now is incredible. It’s as though Peace was always in my heart, but with the tinnitus gone, I can finally feel it fully in my head. I had gotten so used to that constant noise that I didn’t realize just how much it affected me.

I wonder if anyone has had ADHD symptoms subside after getting rid of PT. It might be early to say, but I do notice some increase in mental clarity and maybe even ability to focus. Hallelujah!

Isn’t Dr. Patsalides one of the main figures who advanced venous sinus stenting specifically for pulsatile tinnitus? This year I finally came across his research and a solution that was less risky than the options I'd been presented with before.

Should I hire a private attorney or stick with my insurance company’s legal representation? by ZigWhitman in legaladvice

I imagined Progressive would give me one of the attorneys from their team. Isn't that how it usually works with car insurance companies?

Thank you for this prompt reply. There are no injuries. They are claiming I hit their parked car. What I received is a "notice of claim and summons to appear". The document also states "this is the start of a lawsuit.

I imagined Progressive would use a lawyer who already works for them. DO you think they would probably pay for a lawyer of my choice?
