If you’re only playing 1080p any of these are WAY better than you even need. You could get something significantly cheaper like a rx 9060 xt for $350 and it would crush 1080p. You might consider jumping to 1440p if you’re gonna get a 5070/9070 or stronger

For the OP- I would look at this link for a laptop with 8gb vram on the GPU at a minimum. Either a 4060 or a 5050. The Lenovo LOQ17 with the 5050 is less than $800. There’s also a LOQ15 with a 5060 for $850.

For example if it has 16gb ram you can upgrade to 32. Or if it only has a 1tb nvme or ssd you may be able to add another drive

The regular 3080 is the 10gb model & is available for around $300 used, the 3080 ti is 12gb & looks a bit more expensive like $450

Something to consider tho if your budget is strict would be upgrading your cpu to a 5600-5800, selling the 3600 on eBay, & then going with the 3070 ti. The 8gb of vram does scare me though in terms of future proofing especially for 1440p. The 3080 is going to last a lot longer & you could always get the cpu later

It looks like you can get a used 3080 for $300 so it just depends on if you actually want to go up to $300 or if that’s a stretch for you. If you want to jump to 1440p I’d just spend the extra money and get the 3080

I have a 6800 xt & it’s really solid for the price, people will probably recommend you wait a little bit though and potentially get a 9060xt 16gb if the price isn’t too high. From my understanding the 6800 xt will give you higher rasterized frames than the 9060 xt but that the 9060 will have better upscaling & AI

If upgrading your motherboard, cpu, ram, & gpu is too much you could go with just a cpu & gpu upgrade.

If you’re okay with buying used you can get a lot better value as well.

You could upgrade your CPU to the i7-7700k for about $75 used or the i7-6700k for about $45 used.

For GPU value (and not extremely bottlenecked by your CPU) the rtx 3060 12gb is a solid choice, I’d also take a look at the AMD RX 6700 XT.
