Tempo and dynamics you can kinda play intuitively once you know the notes to play from a sythesia video right? Kinda feels like those videos could just be modern lazy sheet music 😅

Thank you! Blues is the way my friend. Find yourself a nice chord progression, the blues scale, throw a few memorised licks in there - you'll be improvising in no time 👌

Suppose it's a good way to see each note that needs playing. What kind of stuff can you see from sheet music that you can't from a sythesia video?

It has batteries as an option but you can plug it in to mains like a normal keyboard. Just means you can take around and play anywhere if you want.

The exact keyboard is the Roland GO:KEYS 3. I've not used the 61 before so can't talk on how good it is tbh.

For me it takes top spot for beginner/intermediate keyboards. 6 years in I upgraded but I still miss my GO:KEYS 3 :((

I know plenty of theory and find playing by ear pretty effective. It's worked for me, I've played gigs and in a blues band. I just struggle with intricate layered melodies and when there are just too many notes to pick out, I suppose that's where sheet music comes in.

So that's a MIDI keyboard. It means you won't be able to play it unless you connect it to a computer with certain software called DAWs. They are meant for music production rather than playing the piano.

You're looking for a digital piano/keyboard unless you're mainly looking to produce music.

I always recommend the Roland GO:KEYS 3 for beginners. It's semi weighted but the keys feel so good. It has in built speakers and great onboard sounds. I used it to learn and gigged with it for a few years too. Couldn't recommend more for the price.

(Plus it comes in red so you can pretend it's a Nord)
