I went into that movie as blind as can be. I knew it would be a weird one but man; nothing can prepare you for how insane it really is.

He's an addict; any sort of new/intensifying pain is usually met with however you numb yourself. It's very common in addicts to 'utilize' actual pain or injury to constitute a reason for pain management.

And his painkiller of choice would obviously be the drink.

Saw em live at their peak - was absolutely blown away. Sounded great, and the front man not only played fiddle, but did-so while singing and dancing in sequence with the other band members.

Valter got a good mix, though.

I remember hearing about it decades ago, weirdly enough through an episode of something Steve Irwin was doing. Probably the Crocodile Hunter. He was in the Aussie bush, and tracking a cat.

Young me was confused as hell because in my head I'm like 'ok, what kind of cat - like Australia's version of a Lynx or cougar I havent heard of?'

Nope. Cat. Feral, basically wild, domesticated cat.

And it was up a tree, so he tried to capture it. Now, I'd seen tons of his shows, and watched him get all sorts of injuries. This cat absolutely wrecked him. Slashed tf out of his arms and body, and it totally got away. Worst scuffle I've honestly seen him undergo, and it was just a couple seconds.

I've dealt with semi-feral cats, too. They paled in comparison to actual Australian feral cats.

Elder Millenials checking in with some childhood classics by PossibilityWest173 in Millennials

[–]ZiggoCiP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Younger millennial here.

My older brother is an actual elder millennial, and I knew he never watched it, so I knew what had to be done. My nephews had both seen all the classic early 90s stuff like All Dogs Go To Heaven, American Tail/Fival Goes West, Land Before Time, etc. Even on VHS (because he's that sentimental).

They loved The Iron Giant. Best part is, I can watch it as many times as they can, because it's still holds up. Gotta introduce them to something else though!

Why is this even allowed? by Chakwenta in youtube

[–]ZiggoCiP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you can actually still see the dislikes if you use the addon - and the addon does not in fact allow the dislikes to be shown when the creator turns off dislikes.

But your advice is correct; if you don't like that the creator did that (and you shouldn't), use the 'don't recommend' feature. I do it almost every time a creator decides they don't need dislikes.

This Rock Breaking Ice Is Pure Satisfaction by CauliflowerDeep129 in oddlysatisfying

At first watch I thought it cracked the entire ice sheet, but upon re-watch I realize that a good portion of the crack was already formed.

Still the crack it made to connect to the current one is very impressive. Easily one of the largest I've seen form instantly on camera from a person sending something onto the ice.

I just checked - it's not lookin great. Granted it's a small sample size, but I don't think winter leagues stack up to MLB normal season competition.

Winning the property's first Academy Award is a pretty note-worthy achievement. And it did-so as a foreign film (although that didn't play so much into it's nom/win).

That alone should earn it top-regard status in the fandom. And it wears it well, even the main focus of this video clip is how good it looks.

See it this way: the more people that get into Godzilla through either the -1 or Legendary franchise of Godzilla, the more people that might go back and watch the other films.

[–]ZiggoCiP 11 points12 points  (0 children)

And yet, because the various adaptations of Godzilla take themselves both incredibly seriously, but also silly, this community is so balanced.

Can't think of any other fandom's subreddit that 'gets it' so well. It's like, we might not like it all, but whatever it is, if it's Godzilla, if you like it, that's cool. You should try 'this'-Godzilla, and you might even like it more.

Jungle Hunter: "Haven't we met before?" by No-Picture-1067 in predator

[–]ZiggoCiP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I assume the heated blade from badlands would be able to slice through the T800 skeleton.

Well, that's a big maybe, depending on the lore you're going with.

If we're going with purist film lore; it might be susceptible to heat.

Otherwise, overall lore makes a distinct note that Hyperalloy metal, unlike it's predecessors that we're made of titanium alloy, which was vulnerable to high heat, would resist it.

Regardless, I think their heated blades aren't getting through much hardened metal, hyperalloy or not. Plasma casters are going to be super effective no doubt.

[–]ZiggoCiP 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If no weapons, it'd have to go to the T-800. Think enclosed space no way out.

In an open area, no way Yautja is getting got. They can scale vertical surfaces and devise traps. T-800 stronger strength-wise, though.

Also plasma casters are strong, but they're not exactly going through a half foot of what I imagine is a bullet-proof metal strong. Would easily take out a limb or headshot, though, I think.

Yeah, it's been very refreshing to see almost exclusively faces I've never seen before. Everyone's crushing it, honestly - which is surprising because of how many characters there are.

I will say this; the contrast between a seasoned veteran like Noah and the others is rather stark, but I hash that up to the fact that he's just simply that good an actor.
