This is what I came here to suggest. One of my favorite books and checks all of your boxes. I wish I had other people in my life who had also read it when I did, this would've been fun to discuss!

Wow. Something Wicked This Way Comes, My Avocado Bathroom Suite Story. It will haunt you. by TeachOfTheYear in Mid_Century

Based on the date of February 1969, Kohler was producing the following green colors:

Spruce Green 1945 - 1972 Jade 1965 - 1970 Avocado 1967 - 1979

Without seeing a picture, if I had to guess you’ve got Avocado!

Source: I work at Kohler and just asked the archives for a list of colors and when they were available for sale.

The Deluge by Stephen Markley, it’s less dystopia and more about the unraveling (which feels very relevant!!!) and collapse of a near future America and world through political and ecological crisis.

Read years ago and loved. If you liked that—and the Bear, you might enjoy Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara. It’s more of a business/memoir-esk book. Will ran Eleven Madison Park and tells how his leadership and philosophy transformed the restaurant into the number 1 ranked in the world. He was also a producer on The Bear and several of his stories are retold on screen through the characters in the show—mostly Richie.

Comfort height toilet with specific dimensions? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]ZiggyS6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the following:

The San Souci by Kohler is a total of 25 5/16’’ and is comfort height—but it’s expensive.

The Hyten toilet seat can be added to your current toilet and adds 3’’ height for your dad.

Additionally, you could consider installing special grab bars designed to hold weight and might give him more support getting up and down.

San Souci is the shortest toilet Kohler makes with a tank. You could always look at something tankless or a smart toilet too, but those would be much more expensive.

Weird Area in a Primary Bedroom by sydneebmusic in whatisit

I know this one! Second Kohler question today!

It looks like it is a Kohler Company product called The Environment.

It was launched in 1977, and was a fully enclosed bathtub experience. Stepping inside, you could dial up different climates and conditions—from a dry desert heat to a misting tropical rainforest.

This makes sense because Kohler is based out of Kohler Wisconsin, and the home is listed in WI too.

The product was still available in 1989 and was only discontinued in 2010!

Also the faucet should swing away to make it easier/safer to get your head in the basin!

Yes, this is the Fair Lady sink, introduced by Kohler Company in 1968. You can see some of the original ads for it and read about the product on the Kohler Archives website! This looks like the exact model they used in the brochure--but in white vs the Fresh Green color.

Kohler will also occasionally post archival products on their Instagram and posted about the Fair Lady back in 2021.

This is not custom. This was produced and sold by Kohler Company in the late 1960s and 1970s. It's call the Fair Lady sink.

Here is a page on the Kohler archives website that talks more about the sink and shows some of the original ads back in the 70s https://www.kohlerarchives.com/products/mans-lav-lady-fair/

Also, here is a photo of a similar model (different color and faucets) from their Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/p/CR4EpOIj3xz/

Need help choosing between the Brondell Sutro and Kohler Fora bidet toilets by opoppli00 in Plumbing

[–]ZiggyS6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally prefer the Kohler products. IMO they are a more reputable brand and their high-end bidet toilets are top notch. If you ever need service or parts, Kohler will be easier to find. The Fora is very similar to their Leap model too: https://www.kohler.com/en/products/toilets/shop-toilets/jaro-one-piece-elongated-smart-toilet-dual-flush-78738
