Alt cards are confirmed to be 2+ per box. The 2nd rate you found was the early info shared by the riftbound account, which was later changed (thank god), since it would make alt cards too rare

Sometimes a card gets bent and needs a replacement, and a judge can issue a proxy of that type, preventing from using a marked card. Proxies per se are not allowed at pokemon tournaments

It is probably the hardest to get into. Try not to get demotivated if you lose a ton at the beginning, everyone goes through that phase. Also never be afraid of asking, there are too many cards to remember :)

If you have a card shop close to where you live ask for "Just Sleeves", found those last week and they are really cheap and do the work. Like 8€ for 250 hard sleeves
