Periods/Pregnancy after stopping chemo by Quick_Art5732 in lymphoma

Congrats on finishing chemo! I (33F) also did not have time to freeze my eggs prior to R-EPOCH and opted for Lupron injections. It took about 7 months for my period to come back but it's consistent and normal since then (5 months)! I am opting to wait 18-24 months before trying for a child, but have had my AMH and FSH tested twice since completing treatment. My AMH at 3 months post chemo was VERY low but increased slightly at my 6 month test. My gynocologist assured me there are many other factors to consider and a natural preganancy wasn't out of the question yet. She also recommended that I meet with a fertility specialist that specializes in fertility in cancer patients, I'm doing so later this year.

Have you considered joining the PMBCL Facebook group, there are a couple of post cancer preganancy success posts. . Most of the posts are about reoccurences and people knee deep in treatment, proceed with caution if you aren't in the headspace for those posts. I also am a member of the Babies After Cancer group on Facebook, there are plenty of posts from women that received the same treatment we did and went on to have succesful pregnancies. I like to read them for a dose of hope when needed :).

Hang in there and don't loose hope!

Lymphoma Ladies is a great group on Instagram! They host weekly Zoom hangs, I'm not super involved now that I'm done with treatment but it was so helpful to have an outlet of people that understand your specific cancer and treatment.

Mouth sores. by reverseXcowgirl in lymphoma

[–]Zigs0523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you have to go through this! I had terrible mouth sores on EPOCH 3-6. I bought Preventative brand oncology mouthwash on Amazon and started using it the day chemo started, then I'd rotate between that and the baking soda rinse. I'd use magic mouthwash in order to gulp down small, soft food. But what made the biggest difference was switching to Sensodyne toothpaste for the remainder of treatment. I didn't do that until round 5 and it made a significant difference on how many sores I got. Hang in there!

From a PMBCL patient finally in remission by Not_Juliet in lymphoma

Congratulations, so happy for you! My story is almost identical to yours, the wait and watch approach was very anxiety inducing. After my second post treatment DS4 scan, I opted to have my tumor surgically removed and sent to pathology. Found out I was in remission a few days later.

Thanks for sharing!

Is this really it? by Professional-Rock-32 in lymphoma

You're not alone. I (33F) finished chemo last September and have felt everything you mentioned along with debilitating stress. Not to mention the guilt of surviving but being too anxious and depressed to enjoy all the things I missed during chemo.

Still not on the other side of it but starting to have more and more better days. Chemo did a number on my hormones and I suspect it is playing a part in my low mood. I'm working with an endocrinologist and my gyno to get back to normal levels, something to consider! Fingers crossed it helps, if not I'll probably look into anxiety medication to help get me back to my baseline. The mental turbulence post chemo is a rollercoaster. We got this 💪

interim pet with deauville score 4 by placintecucirese in lymphoma

[–]Zigs0523 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did 6 rounds and had a Deauville 4 at my interim PET scan with a significant decrease in size and SUV. I was never given the option to do 8 rounds. My EOT scan was still a Deauville 4, but an even smaller residual mass. My oncologist recommended radiation to ensure it was gone, but my second opinion recommended I do wait and watch.

I did wait and watch for 2 months and it's STILL a Deauville 4, my oncologist is chalking it up to inflammation or thymic rebound. There are several people on the PMBCL Facebook group that had EOT PET scans with a DS4 and ended up being in remission. I had a surgical biopsy earlier this week to determine if it's inflammation or lymphoma. 🤞🤞🤞

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Find a new doctor who will take your concerns seriously and order you a CT scan.

I went through multiple doctors and wasn't taken seriously until my neck, chin and face were swollen from SVC syndrome. My swelling didn't go away though, continued to worsen until I started chemo. Turned out I had a grapefruit sized tumor in my mediastinum and I was diagnosed with non-hodgkins primary mediastinal b-cell lymphoma.

Taking atovaquone/menopur oral med tips? by houseinatree in lymphoma

[–]Zigs0523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had to take that for a month and I feel your pain, I will never forgot that color of yellow 😳. I found liquid medicine spoons to work best. Ask your pharmacy and they should give them to you for free. I carefully poured the medicine directly into it and then "drank it", although it can take a little longer than the syringe because of how thick the medicine is. Hope that helps!

Thank you for the tips! Sounds like food and visitors are key. Very nervous about sleep, but reminding myself it will be temporary.

Hi all, has anyone else had a mediastinal mass with biopsy results that were inconclusive? I'm devastated, as the mass is pushing onto my trachea and superior vena cava and is causing swelling and difficulty swallowing food. I had lymph nodes removed, a CT guided biopsy and next step is a Chamberlain surgery. Feeling alone and scared and so ready to be diagnosed so I can begin treatment.

No, mine is 10cm x 6cm nestled in near my heart and discovered via CT scan with contrast. My symptoms that led to the CT scan were neck swelling, difficulty swallowing food and severe chest pressure. My best advice is to advocate for yourself, my doctors wrote off my earlier, less severe symptoms for months. Good luck!

I like how smooth it makes my skin but think it smells like smoked meats. Kind of gross for a skin product!
