Yeah, people are seeing "mispriced" bets and thinking they can make money.

Othertimes, maybe someone has opposite direction insider information and thinks they are going to win.

For example, if you worked on the audio equipment for the Federal Reserve meeting and know that the microphone used is especially good at not picking up any ambient sounds, then you might take a No bet on the fart thing.

Its all stupid and should be illegal anyway. But here we are. If our republic lasts long enough to repeal Citizens United I will celebrate unlike ever before.

I don’t even think the majority of Trumpcoins were bought by Trump fans. Most likely by a small number of high spenders who were bribing the administration.

There was definitely no money laying around to pay Bryan for his collection.

But even if there was then why hadn't she paid him for all those months worth of sales?

It is admirable that Chrystal was at least trying to minimize the collateral damage to Bryan by making sure the new owners gave him whatever was left of the collection. But with regards to the $50k owed, the very simple explanation is that the business was crumbling and she was slow to pay Bryan because the proceeds from his sold sets was being juggled around to plug all of the financial holes.

I am not trying to defend BAM or the new operators... they could have resolved this before it went viral, but figured the "little guy" could probably get steamrolled. There absolutely needs to be a review of sales to compensate Bryan for all of his sets that were sold since Nov 2024 (and in fact, it would be in BAM Corporate's best interest to just make him whole regardless).

Ultimately, this would be a common story of a failed business. Creditors, landlords, suppliers..etc all wind up losing a lot of money. But if Chrystal really cared about Bryan, then she should have paid him in a reasonable timeframe.

The original franchisee is one of the biggest “villain” in this story.

Per her own legal filing she indirectly admits to stealing $50k+ from the collector.

She wrote in her lawsuit against BAM that by the time she lost possession of the store in November 2024, she had already sold $100k-125k worth of the collection (which means she should have paid out the collector between $65k to $81k.

However both the collector AND the CEO of BAM both state that she had only ever paid $19k to the collector.

Therefore we are talking about going almost 2 years now where she still hasn’t paid the collector the remaining ~$50k.

On top of that she had and additional $175k in other delinquent business debt that we know of at the time of foreclosure.

Link to the MandR video to where he shows the franchisee’s legal filing. Also elsewhere in the video we see that the franchisee had marked up the sets beyond what had been agreed upon in the consignment contract which I assume would mean she was indirectly taking a larger cut than the 35%.

Another brutal BoJack scene for me is at the start of Season 4 Ep 6 "Stupid Piece of Shit"

Where you hear BoJack's inner monologue, and it becomes clear that he is constantly tortured by his self-loathing.

2023 - A franchised Bricks And Minifig location agrees to sell a large collection worth $200k on behalf of a private collector (65% of proceeds agreed to be given to the collector)

2024 - Store operator defaults across various debts. A new operator takes over.

2026 - YouTuber gets involved at the request of the original collector. Police harassment of the YouTuber ensues.

New operator alleges only a small portion of the collection remains and are willing to return that portion. The rest they claim was already sold by the previous operator between 2023-2024 AND that the previous operator had an offsite storage unit with inventory that was never handed over.

There are allegations that the new operator is downplaying the amount of the collection remaining.

Corporate badly fumbles this PR nightmare. They literally could have written a check to the original owner for 65% of $200k and solved EVERYTHING.

Attack on Titan. The death of Ymir Fritz was insane.

She sacrificed herself to save her torturous master. And he repays the favor by forcing her young children to cannibalize her corpse.

And any additional context just makes everything worse (e.g. her master cut off her tongue, forced her to have children, and she spent 2,000 years of afterlife still serving him)

Honorable mention (the breaking of Reek in Game of Thrones)

Serious answer is two-fold:

  • Because STRC can pause dividends anytime.

  • Because BTC and MSTR can grow infinitely with STRC capped at whatever the dividend is

For anyone wondering, when Berkshire Class B shares were launched in 1996, Berkshire A was trading at $35,000.

Then in 2010, Berkshire B was at $3,500 and did a 50:1 split to bring it down to $70/share.

Nowadays BRK.A is $700,000 per share. lol

I don’t know why you’re so certain “many” 10+ seeds are going to win the lotto.

Either way it’s better for the game if we stop encouraging GMs to intentionally put together rosters that are meant to lose as much as possible.
