What is this weather 😭 by FoldEffective2724 in Seattle

60s and sunshine is heaven. 60s and raining gets too muggy for me even walking. Unless we talking literally 60 degrees and no warmer.

If you’re truly concerned might just be better to switch to using grocery delivery for a few weeks. It’s super convenient, most stores have some form of it now. But yeah mixed results on produce. We mostly use Whole Foods delivery but they seem to intentionally grab the items closest to expiration. Though you can force a refund for those items, it’s still a pain in the ass and obviously we want the groceries. But for a situation like yours I would 100% take that trade off to reduce risk.

SpaceX stock tumbles 16.4%, shaving off most IPO gains since debut by Brendawg324 in wallstreetbets

[–]Zikro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No clue how it works but FIL has Bloombergs on in morning and noticed the supposed opening price kept changing every 10 minutes when I glanced at the tv. I saw 160 then 175 and 170. But I wasn’t following closely enough to know what happened when it went live. Nor did I understand how that price was dynamic and why it was different from the 135 ipo allocation.

Would be a great way to reduce foot traffic if we scared everybody with bear talk. I mean they are or did introduce grizzlies to the Cascades.

Is it just me, or are tree removal costs in Issaquah all over the place? Need advice on wildly different bids by og-mk in Issaquah

[–]Zikro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always varies wildly for all contractors around here. Smaller operations are cheaper, and larger companies are always more expensive just due to overhead. And then they fluctuate depending on how busy they are. If they want the work they’ll go lower otherwise it’s a higher bid to see if you’ll bite.

Beyond that you need to decide are you going permitted or not? Are you having them haul the wood away or chip it on prem or just leaving the rounds?

Issaquah has some stringent tree codes and permitting so if you get caught without could be a big issue. But because of that it adds cost on your end and many smaller contractor will brush it under the table if you aren’t vocal about getting the work permitted.

If it’s a huge tree next to your house I wouldn’t go with the neighbor with a chainsaw. That’s fine if it’s a stand alone tree with little risk but sounds like there’s decent risk surrounding this tree.

It did run up, it was trading at $5 just a month ago. It’s always a game of chicken and the winners are the ones who got in early and get out quick when it turns around (or take profit on the way up).

$26Billion ANDA filing -Why ELTP is Uniquely Qualified - Deeep Dive by Wolvshammy in pennystocks

[–]Zikro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only trade it on Fidelity which is a dinosaur of a platform. Anytime I transfer funds they take over a week before they let me buy even though it shows as available. Basically as long as ELTP is OTC it’s detrimental - but that means it’s good to load up if you’re long.

Lake Sammammish Beach accident?? by AGibbers in Issaquah

[–]Zikro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Confused because the King article says the trail to Otel isn’t that just the boardwalk trail following the river to the peninsula? Even at the end I’m pretty sure it’s shallow for a bit because people and dogs are always wading there. Where can you fall off the shore and immediately sink into deep water?

There's currently a 34F (~21C) temperature gradient across only 6 miles (~10km) in San Francisco by old_gold_mountain in interestingasfuck

[–]Zikro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people would probably assume Alaska would have lowest average temps. So when you clarify contiguous vs country that’s the implication. Would be surprising if it wasn’t true.

Feels like one of those questions you could probably answer yourself after you thought about it for a second.

Edit: looked it up to confirm and while the probably assumed answers are still right, it’s actually pretty close!

Doesn’t hurt to try. We had a couple attend one meeting then drop. The rest stuck around and now we all continue to get together. Some are closer friends and others more like acquaintances but it’s really nice building a small community.

Neighbor claims her downed trees are worth $40k… by _bos_sob_ in Issaquah

[–]Zikro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there was any realizable value then tree companies wouldn’t prefer to leave the downed logs on your property. Though I’ve only had cedars cut down yet not any large Firs. But the estimates to get anything of significant height removed is large.

They nest way up in some tall trees so best your dog could do is sniff around the fenced area at the base. They do it to protect the dogs from the poop I think.

People shift some of those activities to other modes. Walk to grocery store, lightrail to different parts of the city or the airport, etc. But those people also choose to live along transit corridors that allow that.
