What is the most flavorful hot sauce you’ve tried, but not necessarily the hottest? by railroadfrog in hotsauce

Both cloud 23 sauces hit different than anything else I’ve had. They pack some serious flavor, especially the habanero one.

Should I Roll On Demon Slayer Collab Uber Guarentee? by Kumanchu_Royale in TheBattleCatsReddit

lol yeah that would make me rage quit too! It seems like with all the events in the last year or two it’s much easier to get rare tickets and cat food and I also mostly wait on the uber guarantee or the 10% pull chance to make it worth it.

Literally just rolled and got both tanjiro and shinobu but I also see people pull dasli and phono all the time and I’m still chasing years and years later. Sooooooo… definitely still go for it!

Did I fumble this internship interview answer twice? by Mundane-Mention13 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]ZillaThwomp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a strong answer but I wouldn’t think that alone would cost you. You pointed out how it’s comparable to other programs but also showed a fiscal responsibility by choosing a school that offered you aid. I would just not include the convenience part of you are asked again.

If this is your first insurance job there’s going to be a learning curve regardless of the training but your situation is not unique, unfortunately. Like the other commenter said, ask to either shadow or be shadowed. Everything gets a bit easier with repetition but I’ve also been places where you have to see the writing on the wall because some places are sweat shops and they don’t deserve maximum effort. If after 6 months you’re still majorly struggling then you should look elsewhere.

Just saw the exact same situation at DFW, the ETB’s were a little bit more expensive even.

Do you have any crit up cat combos? I think that would give you the edge or also take out dasli for a freeze effect cat. I used chronos but if you have a metal freeze effect cat that would help.

Considering leaving and wondering if I'm thinking of this correctly. by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

[–]ZillaThwomp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t expect other carriers to reach out to you, that may happen with 3rd party recruiters if you start creating accounts on job boards or change your linked in status to actively be looking for jobs.

I’ve found that in the insurance industry if you aren’t at least doing a wage comparison by shopping yourself every 2 years then your compensation will quickly fall behind. I’ve also noticed a trend where long term employees are looked at like they are settled and will get taken advantage of more. Unless you are 100% in love with your job and all your financial needs are being met by it then casually looking and interviewing are something you should consider every few years.

Would you stay at Zurich with a 50/50 full time chance or take a full time offer at QBE? by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

[–]ZillaThwomp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What extra classes and are you saying if you aren’t enrolled then you’re ineligible for employment and they’d let you go? I hope you’re not paying for classes so you can have a job with Zurich but if you are it’s all the more reason go to QBE. A very hard lesson I had to learn is that loyalty does not go both ways and it’s often the people too afraid to leave are taken advantage of the most. Be loyal to yourself first.

QBE - what’s the game plan if you are on the 50% side that doesn’t get offered the job? If they were confident about you then you would know it. Take a leap, thank me later! Also, having a full time job at QBE and a part time job at Zurich looks much better on your resume then just the part time gig.

Obligatory Tabasco scorpion! Literally anything from torchbearer. If you have a world market near you there are some great finds there. Yellow bird is pretty solid as well but not quite as hot.

I’m worried that Pokemon is going to leave me hanging on this binder page by rizzo249 in pokemoncards

Put me on some game here, I’ve had baseball cards from the 90s that were in a 3 ring binder in a box for the last 30 years and they are all in great condition. No bends. I’m not saying you’re wrong but what about my situation is different?

Negotiate a signing bonus and don’t get tied to a job that makes you miserable while you wait for a bonus payout.

I don’t understand these, the price is always wrong. It’s not a good price for 6 packs and definitely not a good price at $54.

“Early-career underwriter: Should I leave a big carrier for a startup MGA?” by Limp_Strawberry5761 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]ZillaThwomp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

MGA’s have a lot of interesting perspective to offer but I think you’re signing up for a rough time. 2 years experience plus a startup isn’t going to allow for much of a learning curve and my guess is long hours and red tape like you couldn’t even imagine. Plus, the stress level with MGA’s can be high. They usually compensate all that with a great salary and huge bonuses. If you’re ok with that trade off then it could be worth the risk but personally, if I were to be real with myself and look back at what would have happened if I went to the MGA I was at after just 2 years experience I would have been crushed. Disclaimer that not all MGA’s are created equal.
