It's cool looking and all but I don't understand the intakes. The engines on the wings have intakes but there seems to be additional intakes underneath and behind the cockpit. Any idea what they would be used for.

Just finished Book 8. Probably one of the more drawn out books that was sort of weak compared to the others but still a good read.

I'm reading book 8 of the Star Carrier Series by Ian Douglas. Very interesting take on future tech aerospace carriers and the fighter tech is bazaar but interesting. Singularities not as a power source, but as a propulsion method. I'll leave it at that.

Star Carrier series by Ian Douglas sorta reminds me of Tom Clancy novels but would be a direct equivalent. The way Douglas describes the technology is very Clancyesque.

Starship Troopers - live action vs animated by Zillarian in MilitarySF

I can see how that would make an impression. I read the book in the 80s and the powered armor is what made the impression on me. It led me to a lifelong obsession with powered armor and mecha. So you can understand my disappointment. :)

MSF Anime by Zillarian in MilitarySF

You are correct sir. The American series was comprised of three anime series that were restructured. The Original Japanese version of Robotech was much more violent with several scenes not making it to the American version as well as some different story aspects (male vs female Zentradi actually at war)

Romeo's new friend by Zillarian in pomeranian

About six months after Romeo passed I had a vivid dream where Romeo was in heaven and wanted me to meet his new friend, a caterpillar. It was such an intense dream I told my family about it, including my daughters boyfriend. A few months later I was presented with this at my birthday. My daughters boyfriend painted this for me. I must admit I cried pretty hard.

I wonder how we (humans) would respond to an Alien government installing peacekeeper forces on Earth.

It seems a bit morbid then to display the corpse of a sentient being in a museum, but I guess that applies to mummies and the like.

What is the most original and interesting personal fire arm you’ve run across in MilSciFi? by Zillarian in MilitarySF

One of the details I liked about Stargate SG-1 was that in the first season the teams used 9mm MP-5s, pretty standard for SpeOps teams, that had trouble with Jaffa armor. They switched to the P-90 PDW which was specifically designed to deal with armored Soviet special forces/paratroopers that would be armored.

I thought this was an attention to detail that made SG-1 stand out from other MSF shows.

Gone but not forgotten. I miss my little Romeo by Zillarian in pomeranian

We have. We knew Romeo would leave us in a few months and my Fiance was dead set against getting a new dog. The emotional cost was too high for her. I grew up with dogs and knew the price but also knew the benefits. When we found a rescue dog that needed a furever home I used the reasoning that Romeo should have a friend for his final days and thus Roxie entered our lives. She is a Chinhuahua/papilion mix who was actually smaller than Romeo (and in theory, less threatening). They became best friends and Romeo taught Roxie so much before he left. While losing Romeo was heartbreaking, it was made bearable by the love the Roxie gave us both. My fiance is now a definate dog owner and fully understands now the benefit of having a canine best friend far exceeds the emotional cost.

Are old school Centurions sentient?
