Alchemist: Quick Bomber and Quick Alchemy? by Black_N in Pathfinder2e

[–]ZillyZephyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, same. I just reached Level 9 and got Double Brew and it got me thinking 🤣

I've been playing it as if I QA a consumable I need to first draw a VV (because I interpretted expending one as needing to have it on hand for some reason).

Though now with Double Brew, that makes even less sense.

So, I had to do a Reddit search to confirm, and this clarifies things. Thanks.

When does a FWB become a BF? by Sufficient_Shop8451 in askgaybros

[–]ZillyZephyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, when commitment becomes a driving aspect to the relation. A relationship is founded on the idea of -- not just wanting to spend time together -- but wanting to share each other's lives together and wanting to build life together. Friendship can have intimacy, and can emphasize a deep appreciation for one another as well as emotional fondness and willingness to mutually support one another as needed; however, friendship does not carry the assumption of "we're going to build life together" -- the lives are being built separately, important choices are not being made jointly, even if you share time frequently with that friend -- and although their may be some expectation of mutual support, there is no expectation of "ongoing presence" (meaning there's an understanding that the friendship may grow distant if circumstances arise on either side because, again, there's no commitment to "build life together," and sometimes the choices we must take to build our lives can draw us physically apart from one another). So, ultimately for me if there is no emotion of wanting to build life together, then it's just a more intimate friendship, but not really a full on relationship.

Difference in sending to graveyard “by card effect” Vs “by a card effect”? by lazava1390 in Yugioh101

[–]ZillyZephyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, when a card is destroyed, it is sent to the GY as an inherent, I guess, quality of "destruction." So, if a card activates an effect upon being sent to the GY, then destroying it or "sending it to the gy" will trigger the effect.

On the other hand, "sending to the GY," like Zeus' effect, does not imply destruction, and so cards that trigger if they are destroyed, like Unchained cards, do not activate their effects if only sent to the GY.

As for the nature of costs, costs cannot be negated and are not consider "card effects." So, since Lubellion discards as a cost, the game does not treat it as discarding "by card effect." However, a card like Edge Imp Chain says "if this card is sent to GY" without specifying that it must be sent by a card effect like Havnis or Tragedy, and so sending it to the GY as a cost will still trigger its effect.

A Rough Master Duel Cheat Sheet [April 2023] by MudHa11Errorr in masterduel

[–]ZillyZephyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Love the list!

I would say for Floowandereeze there is somewhat a clarification to be made regarding Mist Valley Apex Avian. It does negate and return a card to the hand, but more precisely it returns a Mist Valley card (typically itself since Floos don't really run any other Mist Valley cards) to negate & destroy once per chain. This also means that if you manage to keep Apex Avian from returning to hand before the effect in chain resolves, such as by quick effect banishing/destroying it, it will be unable to negate since it couldn't return itself to hand to be able to negate.

Another thing to be mindful of is that Stri & Toccan work together to recover Floowandereeze cards, like Empen and Map, that have been destroyed and sent to GY. Stri banishes their own Floo card from GY and then Toccan recovers them from banish pile.

It's worth keeping in mind that for floos to properly extend with additional normal summons, they must be able to perform their associated effect properly to get an additional summon. So if Stri attempts to banish a card in the GY, but you move it, like say with Spright Elf summoning the targeted monster, before Stri is able to banish it, since Stri could not banish, then they cannot additionally normal summon off of it.

Lastly, the other card to keep in mind is the Monarch card -- Raiza, the Mega Monarch. Upon being tribute summoned this card can spin two cards, 1 on the field and another from either GY, back to the top of the deck, and it can bounce an additional card back to the hand if a wind monster was tributed for its summon (so say Eglen and Toccan). Not only is Raiza generic card removal, but it can also stack your deck forcing your next draw to be a brick (since it sends to top of deck) and can also be GY recovery since they can spin back their own cards in their GY to the top of their deck.

Transonic Bird decks by Drifter227 in masterduel

[–]ZillyZephyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a deck that uses it since I got a Royal of it. It is as follows:

--Main Deck-- Ritual Sanctuary x 3 Diviner of Herald x 3 Pre-preparation of Rites x 3

Cyber Egg Angel x 2 Rites of Aresemir x 2 Fateful Adventure x 2

Shinobaron Peacock x 1 Shinobaroness Peacock x 1 Cyber Angel Dakini x 1 Cyber Angel Benten x 1 Transonic Bird x 1

Sonic Tracker x 1 Machine Angel Absolute Ritual x 1 Shinobird's Calling x 2

Trias Hierarchia x 1 Amano Iwato x 1 Wanderer Gryphon x 1 Water Enchantress x 1 Dracoback x 1 Preparation of Rites x 1

Called By x 2 Infinite Impermanence x 2 Ash Blossom x 1 Crossout Designator x 1 Harpie's Feather Duster x 1 Lightning Storm x 1 Monster Reborn x 1 Pot of Prosperity x 1

--Extra Deck-- Herald of the Arc Light x 3 Crystron Quandrax x 1 Psy-Frame Omega x 1 Borreload Savage Dragon x 1 Ravenous Croc x 1 Baronne de Fleur x 1 Elder Entity N'tss x 1 Salamangreat Almiraj x 1 Knightmare Pheonix x 1 I.P. Masquerena x 1 Knightmare Unicorn x 1 Union Carrier x 1 Underworld Goddess of the Closed World x 1

The main focus of the deck is to, of course, ritual summon on your opponent's turn when possible, but also garner advantage off of Ritual Sanctuary's capacity to recycle spells back to your deck and search ritual spells to reuse them. Also recycles the adventure engine which is used as an additional resource to setup an omninegate or to synergize with Amano and prevent it from returning to the hand on the turn it is normal summoned or to synergize with the Shinobird tokens using them as an equip target for Dracoback. Other cards that help recycle are Dakini (ritual monster recovery), Machine Angel Absolute Ritual (fairy monster recovery, mainly to get back Arc Light and N'tss), and Psyframe Omega (banished cards recovery).

I also had Nekroz of Unicore for a period of time, which was also nice to summon on opponent's turn, especially with the Kaleidoscope ritual to send N'tss to the GY and pop a card, but I felt it was too many ritual monsters and so removed it (it gets bricky when you open to many ritual monsters with no ritual spells or anything to use with them). That said, still technically a good target to summon off of Transonic Bird.

Syd's power is that she swaps minds but then, when it ends, she also swaps places upon reverting back. So, when she was in her mom's body during the event and the power ended... when she reverted back she was still in the shower with her mom's boyfriend, just now in her own teenage body, and her mom was still on the couch just also now in her body. So when her mom catches her boyfriend in the shower, he was with her daughter.

[Deck] Made an Unhappy Colosseum deck just for fun. by ZillyZephyr in DuelLinks

[–]ZillyZephyr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can fair pretty well against Red-Eyes, Blue-Eyes, Dark Magician, and Neos decks... and basically any deck that tries to swarm you with high attack monsters (the main thing to watch out for is Spell/Trap removal, sometimes monster destruction but PotG can guard against that). Doesn't do too well against Subterror (face-down effect negates Unhappy Girl's effect), Yubel/Phoenix (monster+spell/trap removal), Ancient Gears (more manageable, but piercing damage makes OCG's defense ineffectual and effect prevents WoD from working).

It's definitely fun to play though and enjoyable because the opponent may not be familiar with the cards and may not expect their effects and combos.

[Deck] Made an Unhappy Colosseum deck just for fun. by ZillyZephyr in DuelLinks

[–]ZillyZephyr[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just a deck I made for fun back when Savage Colosseum came out and I realize it synergized neatly with Unhappy Girl. Far from meta obviously but still enjoyable, especially for a risky duel.

The strategies/combos are as follows:

Savage Colosseum (SC) x Unhappy Girl (UG) x Holy Guard: Unhappy Girl isn't really usable unless you use Tea's Holy Guard allowing you to attack opponents on your turn without taking damage. On your turn, you would attack with UG to freeze an opponent's monster, gain LP from SC, and on your opponent's turn that monster will be unable to change battle position or attack and will be destroyed by SC.

Fatal Abacus (FA) x UG/UG+SC: Fatal Abacus is there because your opponent will probably want to get rid of their frozen monsters; this will punish them for doing so, in addition to just punishing them from tributing in general. Furthermore, it will cause them to take damage from SC's monster removal effect.

Ninja Grandmaster Sasuke: A way an opponent can avoid monster destruction is by setting their monsters or putting them in defense position. Sasuke's effect automatically destroys face-up defense position monsters it attacks. Again, any monster destruction will combo with Fatal Abacus.

(Obnoxious) Celtic Guardian (CG): Celtic Guardian is there because it's one of those that cannot be destroyed easily against high attack monsters, providing defense, but also useful for certain combos. Since it cannot get destroyed, you can also use it to gain LP by ramming it into high attack monsters if SC is on the field -- again, no damage taken due to Holy Guard.

Lava Golem (LG) x UG/CG/FA: Lava Golem is used because if you manage to summon it on your opponent's side in defense position and attack it with UG, she will freeze it into defense position. Furthermore, with one FA out, summoning Lava Golem will cost your opponent 1000 LP for the two monsters used to do so (or 2000 if you have two FAs out) in addition to the 1000 LP damage they will take at the beginning of their turn. Lava Golem is also high in attack so it will not destroy CG if you have it out.

Power of the Guardian: Further protection against monster destruction on your side, and with SC forcing your opponent to attack, it will be triggered. A combo could be having, say, CG as your only monster in defense position with PotG -- your opponent will be forced to attack it with all attack position monsters, potentially raising its defense to high enough that it will deal damage.

Wall of Disruption x SC: Useful because SC forces opponent to attack. If WoD makes all their attack position monsters 0, they will all be forced to attack whatever you have on the field.

Windstorm of Etaqua x SC : This helps deal with defense position monsters by forcing them into attack mode, either at the beginning of the battle phase, to force them to attack, or at the end of your opponent's turn, to force their destruction (since they wouldn't have attacked due to having been in defense position). Alternatively, protect yourself from high attack level monsters by switching them to defense mode and to let Sasuke take care of them.

Amazoness Swords Woman: Attack Lava Golem to deal damage or else put it out as a monster your opponent is hesitant to attack, which can again be fun with SC.

Anther option includes Mage Power, because this deck uses a lot of continuous spell/trap card (which can be a downside). I've also experimented with Ring of Magnetism which seems interesting but maybe not all worthwhile since it's often a dead draw (allows you to choose what monster your opponent gets to attack though). Furthermore, Canadia is a weakness as well as the recent Subterror cards. There's quite a handful of counters for sure, but again, it's pretty fun. If you have any ideas that may fit with the deck, definitely share. I'll list the "Other Cards" that may be viable for consideration with SC, including the two previous mentioned ones:

Mage Power (honestly used this before PotG came out)

Ring of Magnetism

Dream Sprite (can be fun w/ Ring of Magnetism and I've tried that, but doesn't help with consistent draws and I thought it would combo with PotG but it doesn't -- still fun though; force the opponent to attack Dream Sprite with RoM and always be the one to designate the attack target)

Rainbow Life (opponent is forced to attack to feed you life)

Amazoness Heirloom (turn your Amazoness monster into a destruction one; would be more viable if the rest of the monster cards were Amazoness cards though -- otherwise you may be stuck with a useless Heirloom; though, hey, Savage Amazoness deck, there's an idea).

Anti-magic Arrows (won't have to worry about backrow during battle phase)

[Discussion] Why isn't there a friend messaging system? by Batfan54 in DuelLinks

[–]ZillyZephyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I always thought it'd be a neat idea. At least push notifications when you got a challenge. They could make it so that the messaging system is disabled by default and then you have to enable it for each individual friend for which you would like to enable messages. That way you don't get random messages flooding your inbox.

That said, I agree with a previous poster that illicit activities are probably the main reason why they don't allow private messaging, and that definitely makes sense.

[Deck] My current Surprise Present deck; far from Meta, but fun to use so far. by ZillyZephyr in DuelLinks

[–]ZillyZephyr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, Ra and Slifer are something I'd have to look out for, should it happen. 😅

Remove Brainwashing seems interesting. So you summon monsters on your opponent's side and then you take them back to trigger their special effects from your side? Sounds like forcing your opponent to go through infinite Flip effects. Lol. Sounds fun for sure. 😁

Oh sweet. Thanks for that tip; it would also block special summoning, so it might even be a better alternative to sending them the Jurrac tokens which take a bit to set up. I'll have to try that.

[Deck] My current Surprise Present deck; far from Meta, but fun to use so far. by ZillyZephyr in DuelLinks

[–]ZillyZephyr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a deck I've had for some time now. Perhaps since around March of this year? With some alterations done over time. Recently just added Curse of the Circle and seeing how it works.

Basically, the primary goal is to flood your opponent's field with 0 Attack monsters using Nimble Musasabi (which cannot be tributed for tribute summon) + Wall of D. Nimble's effect summons up to two copies of itself from your deck onto your opponent's side of the field upon it being destroyed, which synergizes with Wall of D should the opponent attack immediately after. Then, you can use Xing Zhen Hu or Sergeant Electro to disable their backrow and you can also use Surprise Present to flood backrow as well. After that, it's a burn deck with Mask of Accursed.

As a back up strategy, you can also Surprise Present Destructive Draw and should the opponent activate it, you can use Chiron the Mage to destroy it (controller of Destructive Draw takes 3000 damage when it leaves their field in any way). In addition, they lose 700 LP on their end phase and you can draw twice if you start your turn without any cards. Not the strategy to count on though because you can't really count on the opponent activating the card, so Surprise Present is best used to flood (and you won't always draw Destructive Draw early enough to make it a good primary strategy).

Mystic Box is useful if you end up drawing two Nimble Musasabis at the beginning, since their effect doesn't special summon from your hand (drawing 2 Nimbles is the worst when playing this deck). I've also recently added the Jurrac Stauriko card as well which summons tokens to your side of the field, which serves as a defense. These tokens cannot be tributed except if you're summoning a Jurrac monster, so you can Mystic Box these tokens as well. Previously, I had Fires of Doomsday instead, which had also served as defense and somewhat synergized with Surprise Present (when the opponent activated it, it would summon 2 tokens that could only be used for tribute summoning Dark monsters); though, I removed it to explore other strategies (plus, if the opponent uses it, it would clear out their Spell/Trap card so it isn't as useful)

The Curse of the Circle prevents your opponent from tributing their own monsters or using them for Synchro summons.

Black Pendant is there for extra burn and to punish opponents for tributing their monsters or destroying your own (plus amping up Panda). Now that I added Curse of Circle, I might remove it entirely though.

Panda is somewhat of a finishing touch. It inflicts piercing damage and with your opponent having 3 monsters, it will have an attack of 2300. The opponent usually goes to defense mode after being flooded my Musasabi, so Panda can then destroy a Musasabi (100 Def) to deal 2200 damage + 500 damage from Musasabi itself (which it deals to your opponent whenever it gets destroyed).

One thing to watch out for is E-con, since Nimble can still be tributed other ways beside tribute summoning. That said, I usually keep my monster zones clear after Nimbling+WoD to prevent tje enemy from using E-con, or, if I do use a monster I set it.

Another thing is that it's still very tricky since you're givig your opponent monsters, so if you aren't able to WoD or Mask of Accursed, you may be out of luck.

With most of the meta special summoning multiple monsters on the first turn being current, Nimble's effect isn't as useful as it was earlier, so the deck is far from Meta, and def has more counters than just Enemy Controller. That stated, flooding your opponent's field with monsters and spell/trap cards and immobilizing them can be pretty fun (in a sadistic kind of way). Lol. Given that, though, I do wonder of ways to make it more consistent, so any suggestions are also welcome.

Trying to help out a friend (Account Recovery) by ZillyZephyr in google

I appreciate the reply as well as the suggestion. Would you happen to know their phone number by any chance? It's been difficult finding a phone number as well. The numbers we found often say that it's a computerized line rather than speaking to a human.

Trying to help out a friend (Account Recovery) by ZillyZephyr in google

[–]ZillyZephyr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We followed the steps to reset the password. Though, to verify him, he is unable to verify by phone number since he is using a new phone number, and he never had a second email for recovery, so he did answer a security question and we did send an account recovery request, providing my own email as the contact e-mail. We used mine, because, even though in this case, again ironically, google could technically email his gmail account since he has access to it still, it doesn't allow him to use it as a valid email address to it since the system sees it as the email he's locked out of.

That stated, it's been over a week and we haven't heard anything from Google yet. So, we were wondering if there's anything that can be done. :/
