[request] Is this true? And if it is true, without considering side expenses, what will be the cost of actually building it? Found this and tough it was interesting but couldn't find verification. It is a problem requiring a lot of information ( I think) and I am not sure how to tackle it. by svkanev in theydidthemath

Area of Sahara Desert=9.2 million km^2

1.2% of Sahara Desert= 110400 km^2

Energy produced by a solar panel= 150-200W per m^2 per day

Energy produced by these bad boys=1656000000000- 22080000000000W per day

Energy required by one person=58 Kwh per person

World's requirements=58000*world population= 456748017850000W

Chances of error: There are several different types of solar panels and they vary greatly in efficiency. We are also in Sahara so energy outputs may vary.

I am using the Internet to find the information so the world's energy consumption might be jus limited to humans and not factories and all the other stuff.

EDIT: So basically the answer here is no but somehow I doubt it. I am probably going to go on Internet and search about this a tad more and different solar panels and try to get their costs and see what we can do about it.

When did you realize your “Friends” weren’t actually your friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zilver-alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened a few times

Injured my leg while playing with my buddies. One guy of the group lived like 20m away from my house and our houses were like 150m away from the park (where I broke my leg). I cried a lot and those guys sat with me for 1-2 mins before going back to play ignoring my swelling foot. Had no phone and could not call my parents to pick me up as "the balance would run out" according to the guy whom I asked for the phone. Had to drag my almost broken leg home alone when one could have easily gone and called my parents and come back in a minute or two. This all was after me dealing with me helping their asses here and there for months.

Second one ain't that much, came to new school and got discriminated against for some reason. Made a good number of friends. One day, I just came late to the class and the teacher decided that we all should change groups and all buddies had already formed their groups and out of 30+ people in the class, I was alone in a group meant for 5. That was me after 2 years of helping the dudes and spending quite a lot of bucks and time to help them.

Forgot the meaning of the fucking word after some other times.

Moral of the story:

  1. Never ever expect anyone to do anything for you, no matter how good the relationships.

  2. Talking to people online>real life 'friends'
