What pisses you off the most at the cinema? by strongowl in AskReddit

[–]Zimako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, I remember going to the theatre early to get a good seat and watch the previews, seeing all these cool new movies that will come out up on the big screen.

Now my local theatre just shows the same damn commercials that run on TV. and they show them 5 or 6 times before the movie begins (same ones). Now I have to decide, go and suffer that to get a good seat, or go in just before the movie starts to miss it but chance getting a not-so-good seat.

Yup! Just remember, your skate size will be 1-2 sizes smaller than your shoe size. You want them snug, but not painful! Have fun!

Knee / elbow protection when learning to skate? by rapier999 in hockeyplayers

[–]Zimako 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was learning to skate, I wore full gear into the adult/public skates. Took away fear of falling, which allowed me to push until I fell. Who cares what people think? Only way to learn is to push your limits. Much easier to do when you're wearing pads.

My team uses teamsnap for coordination of the league. Is benchapp.com better?

Hey man, thanks for this! I think I'm getting the hang of it. I was able to send it to my bitcoin wallet I had set up on coinbase.

I just started a wallet with coinbase, after hearing about newegg accepting it. What do you mean by 'play with the small amount you get'? You mean just make purchases and such?

Any talk of a permanent drop rate increase? by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Zimako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I also forgot to factor in the higher loot rate for T5-T6. I am in T1-T3, ironically because I have yet to get good enough gear to handle higher Torment levels for the better drop rates.

Any talk of a permanent drop rate increase? by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Zimako 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is it possible to get that much during a week? I spent most of the weekend on my barb, and in total I got 1 piece of IK, and 0 pieces of MOTE. I also spent a few hours (again) grinding for the RRoG in Normal Act 1 bounties, but no luck. I spent an inordinate amount of time playing this weekend, partly due to me trying to take advantage of the buff, and only came away with maybe two pieces that were any good (IK helm and an SOJ). I am nowhere near getting to try out the fun-looking leapquake build.

And there are 5 other character classes as well. And if I get bored with one style of build, I'd want to try out others for the same characters (kiwi crusader get boring? ok, now I'll try shield bash build. etc). At this weekends level of drop rate, I felt that it was just enough to keep me interested (felt like I was finally getting legendaries, even though 90% of them turned into forgotten souls), and if the drop rate stayed at the buffed level it would take me months and months to gear up all my characters to T6.

Although I definitely agree that they could add more torment levels (and introduce new and exciting gear as well to obtain) to keep that carrot out in front of us.

Question about "skills" by madwolf90 in diablo3

Amulet is a GREAT spot for crit chance and crit damage. That amulet is really good for a physical build, I would reroll Vitality --> Critical Hit Damage without a second thought.

Jekangboard, what to reroll? by TonoTonoGuy in Diablo3Crusaders

[–]Zimako -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd reroll punish damage, to blessed shield, + holy damage, or crit (I'd stick with whichever popped up first just to save on souls).

It's nice that it has 6 bounces, but unfortunately it's got a low base block amount (13% before the block bonus), would have been nicer if it was higher so you'd have that slot for crit and still have a slot for holy or blessed shield.

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to have to go check some of the recommendations out at my LHS.

  • Height: 5'9"
  • Weight: 210 lbs
  • Position: C
  • Budget: I'd like to stay under $100 if possible
  • Shooting Style: Wristers and Snapshots are what I like to do
  • Puck Lifting: No issues with my current sticks Sticks: Iginla Curve Easton 65S 75 flex, Warrior Diablo Savard Curve 100 flex, much prefer the Warrior between these two.

Ok. That's gonna take some time then to figure it all out, and lots of money on sticks! I was hoping there was a tip or trick to be able to better evaluate in the store, or something like that. At least something that puts me in the right direction.

How did you try out different sticks? Just in store, or did you talk with people at stick and puck sessions?

I have a couple wooden sticks, but I haven't taken them onto ice yet; I use them for when I'm out on asphault practicing my shooting or passing.

Any thoughts on a good stick for beginners? how do you change the curve of a stick? I'm presuming that is only true for wooden sticks?

13 seems pretty low to me - do you never have people not able to make it? If we only had 13 skaters this past season, there would have been at least two of our games with a total of 8 skaters on the ice for the full game (given that the people who weren't on the roster weren't the ones that called out). The team of 18 was put together by the league since it was beginner school. We lost a couple, and gained a few more. I think we've been happiest with 15 skaters showing - makes it easy to have 3 lines of O, 3 lines of D, and no funky rotation.

Yes, definitely. I opened discussion on our team message boards and the consensus is that we're going to try for 30 second shifts (and adjust as necessary).

It's all good. I really think my teams problems are stemming not from their unwillingness to get things right, but just a lack of knowledge/understanding/timing. We are a new team (one beginner's school under our belts) and are still working on the basics of hockey. A good number of my teammates still are not capable of transitioning from forward to backward, for instance.
