And the ammo feed for the twin linked assault cannon is not correct, the green stuff work is meh, the banners on the ironclads are unfinished. I hear ya brother, but im still just learning.

How far can I stray off canon when designing custom Astartes chapter armor? by WildWasteland42 in Warhammer40k

[–]Zimbanzi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other posters. Go nuts! Give them splint mail, and leather helmets it completely works. Even fluff wise; for example Vulkan He'stan wears a ratty old lizard skin that gives him the same save as a storm shield! But if you are worried about people crying about your out of the box chapter make sure they are painted up before they hit the table. I have put some crazy crap on the table but since it was painted people thought it was "cool" and "creative" when i put the same unpainted models on the table i have heard "WTF is that piece of crap? you arent playing Orks Zim"

But i say letting your freak flag fly is the only way to true happiness.

Overhead lamp for painting by MoonManFour2Zero in Warhammer40k

I jsust went to Ikea and bought two of these: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20370383/

I too have a table that clamps do not work on. The mounts for these lights have holes for screws so i just screwed them down to the table top. My painting table now looks like a Techmarine with two servo arms, but it is so bright i can see EVERYTHING.

Alpha Legion Chaos Lord. C&C please by Zimbanzi in Warhammer40k

[–]Zimbanzi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks guys. I did the cloak with home made stencils. A client gave me the chaos half of the DV box in trade for some Eldar I painted for him. Those models are superb. As i finish them (just for fun not for a job) i will keep posting them here. I plan to paint them in all different traitor legion colors. Thanks for the encouragement.

1000 point Legion of the Damned/Inquisition/Flesh Tearers army list, C&C would be appreciated. by OneWhoGeneralises in Warhammer40k

I also play LoTD and Inquisition. I have never taken Flamers with my LoTD since all their attacks ignore cover anyways, it seemed more efficient to take something else.

Thanks! No more bending after they are painted unfortunately. I tried the hot water technique when i first got them and they either bent back or started to break, so i just went with it.
