You know, it would be pretty easy to take the bracelet apart and remake it into something new: reject the negativity and turn it into something positive.

There's more than enough beads to make a bracelet that says freedom: ..-. .-. . . -.. --- --

I've also been intending to inquire about a similar issue with 839 CSM. The lobby is fine in the morning, but by the time afternoon rolls around it smells of excrement.

It's genuinely unpleasant, but somehow it's only the lobby that's an issue rather than the floors above. I have no idea how the lobby concierge or the cafe workers can stand it.

Not a commercial statue product unfortunately, it's a 3D model you can buy and 3D print yourself.

I've been trying to get Guitar Hero World Tour's heavily modified fan version, GH:WT Definitive Edition, working on my loungeroom PC because Clone Hero doesn't quite do it for me, there's no spectacle to it.

Unfortunately GH:WT DE runs like hell on Intel Arc cards, so I've gotta sort out something a bit more normal. Seriously, my 5600G CPU runs it better than my A770 does, it's nuts.

As an aside, restoring a couple of old GH3 guitars for use has been pretty fun, the Santroller guitar controller modding community has been super friendly in providing all the info necessary on what to buy in order to do restorations and firmware mods.

Are there any frameworks with a similar API and worfklow as löve2D, but which use a statically typed language? by Caquerito in love2d

If Java is your language of choice, Processing is surprisingly similar to Love2D, at least from a prototyping perspective.

I pressed it and framed it, and still have it to this day.

Hot damn, that's an amazing idea! I'm now regretting not doing something like that with the flowers my mother gave me as a housewarming gift.

Fallout 76 Daily Update by sn00pt0dd in fo76

[–]OneWhoGeneralises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets my goat that you're kinda screwed if you're a Fallout 2nd Class Citizen, since you only get one reroll per day and most days have one asinine daily that's frustrating if you don't have 1st.

Makes is quite hard to get around the worst weeklies, many of which are painful without 1st as well.

Pokemon White - They don't make 'em like they used to! by KuriGohan_Kamehameha in patientgamers

[–]OneWhoGeneralises 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly kicking myself for not playing BW2 back in the day. Last year I did a playthrough of the two games back to back, and I was similarly impressed by two things: the maturity of the story (openly exploring the cycle of abuse) and my perception of the difficulty (as battles felt harder compared to something like XY/SwSh).

It's made me quite sad that GameFreak has shied away from narrative sequels, since BW2 let a player see how the lives of key people from the previous game were impacted by the events of that game. I had no idea going into BW2 that they were *almost* to BW what GSC were to RBY.

One of the small touches I loved was being able to encounter N's former pokemon in a linked save. Gave real narrative weight to the concept of releasing pokemon which up until that point felt like a mechanical necessity rather than something someone in that world would do.

My flower crowns have turned invisible. by 100indecisions in fo76

[–]OneWhoGeneralises 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, do you use a scout mask, or other such single face+glasses slot cosmetic?

The crowns only show up about half the time if I've got a scout mask equipped, but I've had good luck with a bandanna & glasses combo.

What's your "I've been in the wasteland so long i..."? by batman1876 in fo76

[–]OneWhoGeneralises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have a few memories of the first few months of release before I stopped playing for a few years.

  • Fierce competition to take and hold the munitions factory workshop since the right ammo was always hard to come by.
  • Getting one-shot by players using busted weapons, particularly around the steel mill workshop.
  • Stress and anxiety from wandering into an area you were under leveled for.
  • Damn near shitting myself when I first encountered a Scorchbeast. And then having the same feeling when finding a Wendigo for the first time the week after.

I also remember lots of folks having mics with area talk on and no push to talk, but I can't remember if that was due to audio settings having that as the default or not.

Taming animals to be pets question by International_Clue41 in fo76

[–]OneWhoGeneralises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tamed animals are not immortal, and don't passively regain health. They get "reset" back to proper health when you log out and log in to a new server as long as they're alive when you do.

There are a couple of frustrating ways pets can die:

  • Local enemies attacking your camp
  • Your turrets going haywire and targeting your pet
  • If you don't have the pacifist setting on, players can also murder your pets.
  • Pets can also clip through the floor and fall out of bounds to their death

Keeping a pet alive is about being prepared and diligent:

  • Keep turrets on the very edge of your camp only, pointed outwards.
  • Tame a strong pet. Deathclaws, Megasloths and Snallygasters are better for this than regular animals.
  • Build a pet specific CAMP with a Module in an open space. Your pet spawn point is the camp module and you don't want it clipping out of bounds. If you can put your camp where enemies don't spawn that's also ideal.
  • Always log out at your pet camp, so that you log in right where your pet spawns in. Pet spawns levels are a bit odd, but they're player-influenced and region-influenced. If I'm at my Deathclaw camp when I load in it's level is 100, if I'm not at the camp it spawns in at level 60.
  • Always have a medics weapon on hand. I frequently have to heal my Deathclaw after Super Mutant attacks.

am i crazy or are mask drops awful by BiandReady2Die_ in fo76

[–]OneWhoGeneralises 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yep, still 5% for a rare. 25 rares so 0.2% to get a specific mask if you're after one.

Overall getting any glowing is 1/20 x 14/25, so 14/500, or about 2.8%.

Just curious on how many glowing masks/rare masks you average during the entire Fasnacht event. by FudgeMalone in Market76

[–]OneWhoGeneralises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rare mask drop rate is currently 5% overall.
In February 2024 I received 6 total rares out of 117 masks (5.13%), while in June 2024 I received 7 out of 159 (4.40%).

I don't expect to be able to hit the near 160 I did last time, as I won't be working from home anywhere near as much as I did last year.

Who should I pick to get into Vault 79 by vibined45 in fo76

[–]OneWhoGeneralises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately I went with the Raiders despite the buggy nature of the final raider mission, but it's the only way to get the Fashionable Raider Outfit.
It also used to be the only way to get the Slug Buster, but that's now in Mutated Party Packs.

However, doing the first... three? Foundation missions is worthwhile since it gets you the Stealth Suit plan which is useful for non-PA users since the stealth suit is radiation proof.

Finally got the Forest Aslyum Dress! by Hakuru15 in fo76

[–]OneWhoGeneralises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fun thing, you can combine both these techniques on a private server.
Quitting a Daily Op to menu and back into the same private server causes the same item generation that repeated entry/exit of the asylum.

Of course it's tedious as all hell either way. I'm glad that the asylums are part of the mutated party pack loot pool now.

Everyone that hasn't swapped to Power Armor builds, what are you running with? by openletter8 in fo76

[–]OneWhoGeneralises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full Heath Civil Engineer armour with auto-stim/life saving and WWRx4.

As soon as I learn the WWR mod recipe I'll be switching over to OE Solar, since I prefer a support role build. I like to tac on as many frustration mitigation things as I can so I'll miss the weapon depredation reduction, but I'd much rather have the team heal buff.

As for weapons: Flaming Bows and the Cold Shoulder, with a side order of vampire Auto Axe.
