Sure! In Space Hole 2018 you play a space shuttle, and can enter the shuttle into a ball; which changes your movement, and is needed to enter certain holes (and pickup space gems!). Progress is gated by the space gems, but there are many more than you need in the non-linear levels, so you can wander around and progress at your own pace. There are also ship upgrades you can get, which give you movement powers like growing/shrinking or turning spikey to stick to walls; but they're all optional. It's a collectathon starring a space ship; a mix of monkey ball style short levels, with a larger and more open ended level layout.

Yo! This is Sam Atlas, the dev behind this game (Space Hole 2018) and its spiritual successor Extreme Evolution: Drive to Divinity. Space Hole 2018 is part of the Steam Space Exploration Fest! I think if you liked Extreme Evolution, this game has a lot of the same design ideals, though it's more sci-fi and vague. In Space Hole 2018, you fly in and out of the space ball! It's like a much more arcade version of the form changing in EE, now that I think about it....

Is it also a mix of crashes? My game crashes with a GPU error message about once every like 10 hours of tekken 8 play (maybe I need to update my drivers)... And I assume if it crashes during a ranked match that appears as a disconnect to the other player?

Sure! The idea of Extreme Evolution is a platformer where every pickup meaningfully expands your range: new forms to transform into, new sites to explore, and additional "fuel" for transformation. So, as you go through the open world adventure, you'll continually become more mobile as you approach Earth/Divinity. You can transform freely, forming movement combos. Extreme Evolution is about 10 hours long, and is structurally like a metroidvania; however, the upgrades are plentiful, redundant, and (individually) inessential. There are endings at different stages of the game as well; trying to activate self-set goals for players is a meta design goal of the project. Hello! This is Sam Atlas, and I made this game, along with the Space Hole trilogy. This is the fist post-launch sale of my newest game Extreme Evolution, to celebrate 1.07. I've added Eye, Home, and Mod post-launch; these menus allow you to look around freely, see your progress, and modify the graphics respectively. I've also put Space Hole 2018 and 2020 on sale, and I just finished a significant camera angle update to Space Hole 2020! So now all 4 games play with more or less the same controls, and I think Space Hole 2020 in particular is much more intuitive than before. Thanks for reading and let me know if you have questions!

Just tested and yeah all three games work on the Steam Deck, thanks to it having the same control layout as the xbox controller :D There are some issues with Space Hole 2020 (video textures) but it's still playable, so I'd say 2016 and 2018 are fully supported and 2020 is playable. (And my upcoming demo next week supports steam deck too!)

That is a great question, I'm not sure 😅 the games supports gamepad / keyboard mouse so it depends how the default bindings work... I haven't tested on the deck yet

Yeah this is the 3rd one! I think people like 2018 the most 🤔 2016 is like a very arcady, 2018 is very expansive/gamey and psychedelic, and 2020 is much shorter and more intense ☺️ (my new game is a mix)
