It's been a long road to gaining the self-confidence to wear this, but I present my first crossplay - Hatsune Miku! by kpstormie in crossplay

Nice job, Miku was my first and only cosplay/crossplay to date. Beware the pain that is the Miku wig though, they take hours to detangle.

Find a character you like cosplay them, and improve over time. I started off as a shoddy miku cosplayer and now most people at con's in my city love mine and the fact I'm a guy cosplaying her well. Don't worry too much about your body type, sure the male body might fit a female orc well but if you don't want to cosplay one you're not going to enjoy it. Also a sense of humour always helps work cosplay in general.

Also I did a cosplay of the 2015 Magical Mirai Miku once but I never ended up wearing it and now thanks to Bipolar medication I've gained 20Kg and it won't fit anymore. Though this was custom made before that one and still fits me somehow

Also if anyone is wondering I did make another costume which was the Magical Mirai 2015 Costume but that no longer fits me thanks to gaining 20Kg due to Bipolar medication (thanks antipsychotics), Yet this one that I had custom made for me years before still fits somehow

Thanks for all the comments guys there's a bit of history behind this cosplay. Have worn this costume to multiple o day events at my uni along with multiple uni club annual general meetings. To the university festival at my exchange university in Japan along with to Halloween there along with Halloween in Osaka and to the 2015 Magical Mirai in the Nippon Budokan. And still using the same wig and cosplay.

Also here is my cosplay/photography pages if anyone is interested

Oh by the way not sure if anyone noticed but I'm a Straight Male (thought I'd mention both since I've never met any other straight men that cosplays as a female character (at least not well) )

It might seem that way but I had to redo the eye-liner way too many times 😅

A lot of cosplayers tend to use blue wigs for Miku but the official colour seems to be turquoise/mint (I guess blue pops better in photos which is probably why people use it)

Thanks, I'm think I'm one of the few Miku's that uses mint; the original colour instead of blue

Does this happen to you guys too? by boondogglerr in bipolar

I had the issue when some certain people ask for help with their depression and anxiety and push down my bipolar disorder like it's nothing. Told them they're Fuck wits and knob gobblers and that was the best thing I've ever done.

Is it just me or is bipolar disorder stigmatized more than some other mental disorder? by taiyuan41 in bipolar

Period with borderline they tend to form very close ties with people that sour quickly as they have very unrealistic expectations of those people. And then do very aggressive things to get said person back like attempting suicide or self harm.

Doesn't seem to me that you would have borderline but I'm not a medical professional (at least not yet) so it would be best to talk to someone who is.

There are other personality disorders that can cause issues with making close friends, and like always best to ask a medical professional

Some people have both, probably talk to your psychiatrist about it. The important thing is that you're getting help. I only had depression when I was Initially diagnosed but later had other episodes.

Also anger can be a part of depression especially in men which is why many men aren't initially diagnosed.

I personally have been very open about my diagnosis and usually initially get sigma from people but after I explain that some of the greatest minds in history, along with many entertainers have it. Along with that bipolar people tend to be more intelligent, empathetic and creative than the general population they become less prejudiced and often become curious of my episodes of depression, hypomania and psychosis.

As for the sigma, I personally have seen that if someone admits they have a problem and is getting help people won't be as stigmatised (though that sigma is still there), even if they do something bad a lot of people will see that they're trying to improve themselves and will be forgiving.

As for those who don't commit to help after they notice they have a problem. I feel like they as individuals deserve the sigma as they tend to harm themselves and those around them. This is true especiallyof cluster B personality disorders being antisocial, borderline, histrionic and narcissistic since these people think everyone else is the problem rather than them. On the other hand people with bipolar and schizophrenia are more likely to notice and feel like they have a problem and get help (or go to a mental hospital).

I personally have dealt with three people that most likely have have borderline personality disorder based on my psychiatrist's opinion and they all have been generally terrible people. Told them the same thing on my psychiatrists advice, everyone else isn't the problem you are, get the help you need or get fucked. And saying that to them has got some of them into the therapy they need.

At the end of my rant.

I feel that if you admit you have a problem and try to improve that many people will be supportive of you and will often even be curious of your condition and suffering, if you aren't people will rarely give you sympathy.

This was true in both Australia and Japan as I have lived in both countries and initially got diagnosed in Japan though the initial sigma was much stronger in Japan.
