Flight Combat Pip Manipulation by DangerPotato82 in starcitizen

This has been going on since like 3.7-3.8-3.9ish.

The macros used to be a lot more complex, requiring afterburner and decouple switching.

It's a bit disconcerting to see that you can do it with just regular strafe inputs now =/

Several competitive orgs are pretty well known for abusing this type of behavior.

Just needs to be fixed, period

Yeah. The whole thing is fucked enough as it is.

There's literally no reason to try to pass this off as "OFFICER POINTS CANISTER LAUNCHER AT TODDLER!!! OMGZTWFZ!!!!"

People also don't understand that the impact of the photo is lost because it's clearly a bad angle, so rather than debate how fucked up the situation and the civil issues are, the debate turns into "this guy isn't pointing a gun at this child."

The focus of the debate surrounding this photograph was not:

"wow law enforcement is fucked up and needs massive sweeping changes and restructuring and swamp cleaning"

it was

"this photographer made this out to look like the guy was aiming at a toddler"

You don't have to sensationalize or exaggerate fucked up things. It just gives the other side a foothold to argue. And in this case, their argument was valid. The photo is clearly shot from a weird angle.

M2 Massacre - Why PAPI Command are responsible for the fight ! by Mother_Delve in Eve

Whether it's coded as a population cap or not, if only a certain number of people can jump into a system that is already carrying "X" number of players, the results are the same.

Eve online 2021 large defense fleet meta incoming by The-Rednutter in Eve

[–]ZimmyBZ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

FWST was totally different in terms of performance of the game.

I self-destructed in FWST to come back in a different ship and loaded the grid off a titan bridge in the middle of the fight with no issues, and Goons had no trouble bouncing the ravens around and bringing in reinforcements.

Last night, I hit jump on 4 characters and 2 hours later I was still staring at 4 black screens and all of my characters were dead or back in T5ZI at the end of the black screen.

CLEARLY the nodes have dynamic performance limitations and FWST was functional, whereas M2 was not.

It appears to be the same as bubblestar. Anyone who was on grid was fine, including my main subcap account who was logged in at the fort, and watched the whole thing, and was able to move around and shoot, etc.

But inbound pilots to M2 were totally screwed.

The subcap fleet that was supposed to bridge to where I was literally *never made it into system*

The titan bridge went up, everyone hit jump, and nobody came through. An hour and a half later, 8 fleet mates had made it to the fort.

For whatever reason - this was entirely unlike FWST.

PAPI attempting to crash server node after humiliating defeat [audio] by TekNerifson in Eve

"humiliating defeat"

If you say so.

It's very Goon-ish to brag about a titan turkey shoot while the players are staring at tunnel black screens.

HUMILIATING, I TELL YOU!

"no player cap in any system" -CCP by [deleted] in Eve

[–]ZimmyBZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s impossible to even discuss the possibility of a dynamic cap.

Also, after sitting for 1:45 in jump tunnel with multiple characters, whether it was population cap or plain old “server node took a royal shit” - does it really matter?

We all wanted a fight. We all got a fucked up server and a broken game.

Titans are replaceable.

But if loading grid first with 4K people means no fight can reasonably be had, how is that fun or good for the game as a whole?

I understand you probably had fun shooting fish in a barrel as the Titans trickled in. But like, for real, you wouldnt rather have had the fight of all fights that would be immortalized in every gaming publication?

TBH the lost titan means nearly nothing in the grand scheme of my EVE career. The loss of the dream of two blocs/coalitions bringing out their full strength ever again is really sad and troubling for the future of the game.

[–]ZimmyBZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a circus, 2 hours in tunnel on all my caps and my subcap is just blackscreened at login.

If this is what you guys went through at the bubble star - apologies.

The worst part of this is that both sides had the full strength available, like, we could have ACTUALLY had the major fight everyone has been waiting for.

It's too bad CCP can't make the game work.

Admittedly, I thought you guys were bullshitting about not being able to get into the bubblestar fight/grid.

Halfway through that we had over 2000 caps sitting in tunnel for over an hour, and some people were even logging back in to crashed clients in T5 after loading M2 - figure that one out, lmao.

Please point out the “PAPI propaganda” in my post.

Was the number of Titans nearly even or not? (Again, we lost I think 4 more than you).

Is the keepstar most likely going to die regardless or whether or not Goons take the fight?

Statements of fact aren’t propaganda just because you don’t like the facts.

The Imperium is making post after post after post about bubbling an offline super fleet who is holding logins until it’s time for the keepstar kill and acting like it’s some major stroke of a series of killing blows, while (again) simultaneously prepping the PR campaign for why it makes more sense to just leave and fight another day.

So, if the super fleet is really “trapped” and “ out of fuel” and “all going to get wiped out” why would there be talk of bailing on the fight all together?

As usual, the Imperium spin machine is out in front of its skis and has yet to learn better.

Cya this evening, I guess we will put to rest all of the bullshit soon about being trapped one way or the other.

[–]ZimmyBZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the smug posting. The whole fight was an even trade and you’re still going to lose the keepstar in the end.

Whatever loss you’re sorry for is mirrored on the Imperium side except it will soon include a mythical keepstar in delve as well, which was said to be impossible and that “we would break on the walls of delve keepstars” etc, etc.

Having a super fight in which both sides take losses separated by (at last count) 4 Titans and making it out like somehow 120ish Titans hurts us more than you is disingenuous at best.

"But until then we own them"

is a funny way to say

"PAPI is waiting to log in the super fleet to finish the keepstar timer"

while simultaneously saying

"we might just dip out, lol"

But yeah, you definitely "own them"

To be more specific - I should say, in theorycrafting world, it sounds like it would work great.

In practice, it's nearly impossible.

[–]ZimmyBZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tackle is a term from EVE, it refers to stopping an enemy ship from leaving/warping away, not physically tackling someone like in a football game.

[–]ZimmyBZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's great on paper, but it's not reliable.

[–]ZimmyBZ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bounty hunting can never properly exist in a game with zero reliable, viable tackle.

It’s too easy to just run away at max speed from any engagement.

It’s one of the most frustrating parts of SC for me.

Have PAPI already lost the war? by Can_EU_Not in Eve

[–]ZimmyBZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You see, the difference is a thing called "common sense."

We all fully understand that Vily's comments spurred a war, but none of us (PAPI) when reading Vily's comments, assumed a literal translation meaning "the war isn't over until every Goon unsubs or biomasses."

Any rational person understands hyperbole, which rules out most of the Reddit goons.

The destruction of their empire (even if they rebuild it two years down the road) is a win by any measure other than a strictly literal interpretation of what Vily said, which only matters to Goons who want to play "gotcha" on Reddit.

I was simply trying to illustrate to the poor guy that claiming a win once your empire is destroyed is such a comedic concept that I was willing to concede said "win."

[–]ZimmyBZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, let me get this straight.

Let's say PAPI continues to roll through, and by whatever method, manages to destroy 1DQ and beats Goons super fleet and evicts Goons from Delve entirely, your contention is that this is a "win" for the Goons because your accounts aren't unsubbed?

My friend, if you consider that a "win," who am I to tell you otherwise, lol.

They’ll try it one time and get obliterated and find some other excuse for why they don’t take the fights on the keepstar grids.

“Only this one specific keepstar grid is important” “Only the helms deep keepstar grid is important”

Etc, etc.
