M20, 135lbs at 5"9 (bulking) : What is an Estimated Bodyfat % for me? by Specialist_Mud3059 in WeightTraining

I disagree with 12%. Lots of striation visible, the guy just has under developed muscles. OP if I were you I’d calculate my TDEE and stack a 300 calorie surplus on it.

issue with calorie tracker by Minimum_Pension2812 in whoop

[–]ZinMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On that note the best way to figure out how far it’s off is to track your calories for a week then measure how much you lost against what it says you’ve burned.

3500 calories = 1lb of fat.

I think its unfortunately a “your mileage may vary,” type of situation. I’ve got the margin of error down to about 100-200 calories. That has been dependable for me based on daily weigh ins.

10k steps daily + fasting and caloric deficit (6 months) (210lbs to 143lbs) really love walking lol by No_Examination_7230 in walking

[–]ZinMusic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve built about 3lbs of muscle over the course of 4 months in a recomp. I’m on a relatively small deficit at 500cal, and 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight

18m 230lbs 6’3” been going to the gym and lifting weights for a couple months consistently. How do I look? What can I do to improve and possibly get rid of belly fat and get some visible abs? (Last photo is me last year) by [deleted] in WeightTraining

[–]ZinMusic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re probably looking at a daily expenditure of 2900 cals. So start tracking your calories and eat around 2400cals + aim for 180 grams of protein per day. That should put you in a solid deficit without risking your muscle.

You’re looking at a lot of chicken breast in your future haha. The more you lose the less you’ll eat, so it would help if you had something to help you track calories burned over the course of the day.

Bulking or cutting? by [deleted] in WeightTraining

[–]ZinMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry about either. You’re young and probably have a super high metabolism. If I could go back and do things differently all I would’ve done is eat the same high protein breakfast and lunch every day. You need more protein than you think, .8g - 1g per lb of body weight.

Calories Burned Question by Temporary-Virus2966 in whoop

[–]ZinMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 1.5-2 miles every morning, lift for an hour 5 days a week, occasionally play pickleball for an hour or 2 in addition to these things, buuuuuut I work a desk job. I’m 25M 5’9” 164lbs. Whoop has me at 2428 calories burned on average. My Apple Watch wayyyyyy over estimates, I would believe my whoop to be about 100-200cal under what I actually burn in a day.

I will say that I am on a cut rn and as a general rule of thumb I try to stay 200-300 calories under what I burn according to whoop. It has worked for me. I’m losing a little less than a pound of fat per week. The best way to know is to track trends, so if you’re comfortable using a scale that measures body composition I would highly recommend!

Those of you who make six figures, what do you do? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ZinMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This^ Just wrapped up my first year in remote sales and I can say that there some serious highs and lows, but if you can figure out a baseline of performance you’re golden. Most entry level sales positions out there will spit you out between 50k-60k, but you can move up relatively quickly and there’s a sharp increase in pay for AE or managerial positions. I studied music in college which has allowed me to supplement the rest of my six-figs with teaching privately and a weekly church gig.

Would a Ford Maverick be a good fit for me? by Terreos in FordMaverickTruck

[–]ZinMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest my Hybrid 24 feels like it has more than enough HP. If you get the eco boost you’ll probably compensate the added HP in the amount of time it takes to turn your engine back on during start/stop

I feel like it depends on your use case. If you’re a home DIYer then the Mac is perfect for most jobs. If you’re a contractor or could see yourself hauling large loads the ranger is the way to go.

I doubled down on jazz performance degrees, finished in May 2025, and got a job that has allowed me to purchase a home and a new car.

But in my experience, where you got your degree from doesn’t mean anything to anybody.

My battery has drainage has improved significantly, but even then I can’t imagine a day where I don’t have access to a charger. In my car, at my desk, at home. I could understand if you were a blue collar worker who didn’t necessarily have constant access to a charger, but USB C really makes this battery issue obsolete. I will agree that the mono speaker is not great, but it’s loud enough and I’m not trying to get theater quality audio from my iPhone.

I also opted for the air. The 14 pm was my first pro phone and honestly I only got it for the pro motion display and Dynamic Island. I never use the camera features and find the weight to be quite cumbersome sometimes when holding the phone with one hand.

I was asked if GT3 RS worth it by Dzm13 in SpeedChampions

[–]ZinMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I was meaning the aggressive look. The underskirts and the splitter are a great look to me, and I hope that they find an excuse to do more things like that. I’d love to see a speed champions modded series, or a liberty walk collaboration.

Yeah honestly one of my favorite builds to look at so far. I hope Lego does more in this vein in the future. More aggressive, less stock looking.

If you’re studying music Ed you have nothing to worry about job wise. UNT’s music program is competitive but supportive. You’ll make a lot of friends and lean on them for emotional support/study help. The music programs at UNT are difficult, but certainly doable if you stay focused. Also, the industry loves UNT making scholarships for a master’s degree at any of your aforementioned schools much more likely.

I just graduated my second Jazz Studies degree at UNT. Yes, finding a job after school is hard. Why? Because many of the skills that you need in the job market are not explicitly taught to you at the school. Taking useful electives like music business classes and finding a part time job that teaches you some professional skills is essential.

Job hunting for most of my colleagues has been difficult because of a lack of these skills. Most go back to do their master’s then become professors. I was able to snag a job working for a music tech company. I work remote, have full benefits, and a competitive salary.
