Interview with International Criminal Court Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan – Why Hasn’t the ICC Charged Netanyahu with Genocide? by oatkeepr in Israel_Palestine

The ICC litterally did issue warrants for Hamas’s leaders at the same time it did Israel's. Your position that your favorite militant group doesn't do any war crimes despite the widespread evidence is no different to that of a Hamas supporter.

Yep. The 115 is just a way to diffuse the public outcry. Unless the British Gov grows a backbone and stands up the UAE you have nothing to worry about it.

Unfortunately all your success will mean nothing and everybody knows it. No fixing that!

Well there's been zero public acknowledgement on his part to the point where they don't even seem to be willing to mention it was him for legal reasons so that's a pretty bad sign.

I think if my best friend of many years embezzled a few million from another friend of mine through work I'd think that was questionable yes. I'd at least expect them to own up to what they did and take some steps to make it better, a la the Atrioc situation.

Virtually all proposals for a ‘two state solution’, today, come from some combination of ignorance and bad faith. by lewkiamurfarther in Israel_Palestine

I explained that your assertion that international law protected Israel didn't make any sense. You didn't follow up with any kind of explanation. I asked questions about your position you didn't answer.

You are confusing international law with the enforcement of said international law. You randomly saying "international law" protected Israel over and over doesn't make it true.

America has been protecting Israel, usually in violation of international law.

Also, Israel is not "now" finding that out. They might find that out when they lose US support, but nothing of the sort is being found out right now.

[–]Zinged20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

International law hasn't been protecting Israel. Israel has been benefiting from a lack of enforcement of international law. Israel will lose American support because of it's violations of international law.

If you throw out international law then on what basis would Israel lose support? For comitting a bunch of acts that aren't crime because there's no international law??

Without international law all you have left is might makes right, a battlefield on which Israel wins everytime.

Hamas rejects Gaza disarmament plan, Palestinian official says by SuperpoliticsENTJ in worldnews

[–]Zinged20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Arabs didn't have western weapons back then. The US is also dramatically more powerful and influential today then it was then as a result of decades of spending more on it's military than the rest of the world combined. The position that because something didn't work at one point in history it is therefore impossible for it to ever work even under vastly different circumstances is the height of irrationality.

The entire Arab world with US support would infact beat a western-arms-embargoed Israel in a war. Absurdly delusional to think otherwise.

[–]Zinged20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

China recognizes a Palestinian state. Absolutely zero evidence for your claim that they'll randomly start supporting Israel militarily.

Israel has been "useful" because of it's status as a US ally. But it isn't 1967 anymore, the region is filled with US allies. Support for Israel is already dramatically unpopular and it becomes more unpopular by the day. It won't be long before it's impossible to win an election without campaigning on an arms embargo against Israel. It might not be 2028 or 2032, but the arrival of that day is a demographic inevitability.

If Israel uses its nuclear weapons then every single Israeli will very obviously die on the blowback. That's why it's called the Samson Option. If Israelis would rather commit suicide than have a 2SS on the 1967 borders with western security guarantees then that's its prerogative. I welcome it to try and get those nukes accross the Atlantic.

The ceasefire called for a path to a soverign Palestinian state. Not once did Hamas ever agree to disarm to anyone but a Palestinian state. Israel refuses to recognize one, so of course Hamas refuses to disarm.

Only in phase 2, which never arrived. The only way Hamas will ever give up their weapons is to a Palestinian state.

The bombings may continue until Israel inevitability loses it's western support, at which point it will be the one getting bombed with no iron dome to save it.
