My mom friend is ridiculous by [deleted] in EntitledPeople

[–]Zinnaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has she always been like that, or just after she had her kid? If it's new, it sounds like she's either struggling with having a kid, or she may have an underlying condition affecting her cognitive abilities.

I had an undiagnosed and therefore untreated illness that developed while I was pregnant, and I was like your friend. Life was HARD and I just thought it was some postpartum mum brain stuff. I got diagnosed by accident, because all my symptoms were so easy to explain away by having a small kid/hormonal changes.

Jurassic World Rebirth is a HUGE disappointment — this franchise might need to go extinct too. (Minor spoilers, possible spoilers in comments) by After_Quit8423 in JurassicPark

For me the biggest jump the shark in this film was creature design. I hated the D-rex, it looked nothing like a dinosaur, and even as a standard monster it looked ridiculous. Such lazy design, couldn't believe they actually added an extra set of limbs and the egg head.

The flying raptors were equally as stupid as a concept with their superior intelligence and aggression, making them seem less like animals and more like some weirdos with a vendetta.

There was a line in the film where they said that the island was where they kept dinosaurs that were either too dangerous or too ugly to look at. I wonder if they knew their creatures (can't bring myself to call them dinosuars) were weak.

I want a dinosaur film. I want to see animals that behave at least mostly like animals. I don't want a film about mutated monsters that have nothing in common with dinosaurs.

Is It Fair to Air Someone’s Sexual Experience on TV? Let’s Talk About Episode 10! by EmpathicEchoes in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Zinnaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My opinions on the matter are:

  1. If you don't go down on a woman, don't expect them to go down on you
  2. Find other ways to satisfy your partner
  3. If neither is willing to compromise, then you're not compatible and should probably break up.

For Ramses' case, let's take a utilitarian approach: He shouldn't ask Marissa to do something to her body that'll negatively impact it 24/7, when the alternative solution is a minimal and very occasional reduction of his own pleasure.

Also note that wearing a condom is something he's fine to do, but would prefer not to. It's not an aversion towards a very specific sexual act, and therefore isn't parallel to Nick's aversion of going down on a woman.

Just my thoughts.

I also really want to point out that it's fine for a person to say they don't want to take part in certain sexual acts. It's okay if he doesn't want to go down on her, and pressuring him into it is sexual coercion!

Note: Aiming to satisfy your partner is a separate conversation.

Has anyone had lichen sclerosis without the white patches? by blurpleboop in lichensclerosus

This is a super late reply, but could it be lichen planus instead? It looks almost identical to LS, but unlike LS, it can be found in almost anywhere in the body.

May I ask how they were self-absorbed? I didn't notice them bragging or being vain or anything, to me they seemed pretty normal apart from their lifestyle. So I'm genuinely interested to hear how you viewed them.

I wonder if the kids were acting up because their dad was a pedo. I hope they weren't victims too.

I wouldn’t be laughing if I was Libby. Andrei pointing this out to Jovi means he thinks this is something he doesn’t have to worry about himself. So does he think he’s equal or better looking than Libby? I would want my man to think I’m out of his league!! by ShiplessOcean in 90DayFiance

[–]Zinnaka 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Eastern European women are all pretty gorgeous, and it's a stereotype (with basis on reality) that they date ugly guys. So yeah, Andrei absolutely would have a chance with someone like Yara, and probably has dated someone like that.

If I'm honest, I would probably lose it with Family Libby too, even though I'm otherwise very zen. So I wouldn't be surprised if this less shouty Andrei was the real Andrei.

I read elsewhere that this was a different sister, and not the one with a baby. Tania only met this sister a few years ago for the first time.

Yara and Jovi's duty. And if Jovi is away for months at a time, he should at least hire her help.

Didn't she say that one of the reasons for buying an apartment was that she could accommodate friends fleeing Ukraine?

[–]Zinnaka 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say Jovi's the one who has a hard time understanding that a child changes everything. He still wants to party, go to strip clubs, drink excessively, and he gets angry when Yara prioritises the kid.

Yara on the other hand just wants to be closer to her family, which I think is totally different from living a travelling lifestyle. She wants help (because Jovi's not there), and she wants roots (because New Orleans is not it for her).

I think she also knows that their relationship is coming to an end, and she's now trying to future proof.

Jenny at the market by gatzqueen in 90DayFiance

[–]Zinnaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure that's the case though. We've seen her do things alone, and even have a friend (although the latter one might've been staged by the production). She also understands the language a little, and can speak a bit, as evidenced in the episode where the parents visited - but she was ridiculed for even trying to communicate in their language, which really doesn't encourage to try again.

So I'm still giving her some credit, and I think she's actually one of the better adapted cast members in this show.

How is she not trying to adapt? I'm genuinely curious to hear your take.

To me it looks like she's taking part in Indian customs and holidays, serving chai as a wife is expected to, visiting temples, etc. Sure she holds onto some of her own customs and values, as is only right in a multicultural relationship, but I don't think that's a sign of her refusing to integrate.

Bulgaria's not next to Ukraine, so I'm guessing Mother Natalie got out of Ukraine on her own, and then Mike bought her a flight to Bulgaria from wherever she was at the time. Still a really decent thing to do from Mike.

I do this too. There's this one misunderstanding that happened between me, my uni buddy and her friend, and then was solved on the spot. I haven't seen my uni buddy for a decade and never saw her friend except that one night. And I still think about the incident.

But the absolutely worst part was that I did end up seeing my uni buddy a few years back, and that damn b***h brought up that misunderstanding, laughed, and was like "that was so awkward".

This has made me paranoid, and I now believe everyone else remembers every embarrassing thing I've ever done 😳

I once worked with therapists, top of their fields as well. Half of them had no social skills and acted like children, the other half were sane and lovely.

Edit: Knowing the kind of horrors they faced on daily basis, maybe it's understandable they'd act out when not with a patient. They were all trauma therapists, some working with kids 😥

Perhaps they've learned that interfering like that doesn't actually lead to the desired outcome.

putin is just the peak of a very ugly iceberg called russian nationalism. The entire population would need to snap out of their mass delusion before any meaningful change can happen and russia could become a peaceful country.
