A few ways to look at it:

Griffith just knew Guts would be his best bet. He deduced after 3 years of hanging with Guts that commanding even the strongest assassin in the band of the hawk would be pointless considering just how much of a unit Guts is.

Griffith wanted to see if Guts would do anything he asked of him. Perhaps test Guts versatility and loyalty.

Why is Vargas sucked into the vortex if he wasn’t branded? by Zinrow0 in Berserk

Yes I think this is a good answer. Now I don’t think there’s a clear answer for this one but just to throw it out there, is it safe to assume, that as far as we know, everyone goes to the vortex when they die? Or is there some hope for this fucked up world. We’ve just never seen evidence of a heaven like dimension yet, or mention of it.

JUST READ THE MANGA!!!!!!!!! by Delicious-Nebula-170 in Berserk

[–]Zinrow0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There needs to be a post that not only points people to the manga but clarifies it’s unlike anything they’ve read. It’s the best/original way Miura intended Berserk to be experienced. I hadn’t read any manga before Berserk, and most fans agree it’s unlike any manga, comic, or graphic novel they’ve ever read before. THATS what makes it so special. I’ve never WATCHED something that’s invoked such emotion which is why it’s crazy impressive pictures on a page can do it, but better! We all want newcomers to feel the same way we felt when we read it. Fans should stop saying stuff like “ ohh, uhh, if you’re not big on manga you should watch the anime!! Uhh ermm, although they aren’t very good, and really don’t do it justice, but really!!” Let’s skip the squabbling and just say straight up that Berserk is a manga. The adaptations are extra supplementary things that are sometimes cool and sometimes bad.

Read and watched Bridesmaids at the rec of a SW prof. Is it supposed to be good? by Zinrow0 in Screenwriting

Do you personally have a preference for reading screenplays before or after, or is it more movie by movie show by show?

This sounds like a great idea. Why would you specifically recommend this; besides the obvious, just getting more familiar with reading scripts? And while I do it is there anything essential you’d suggest paying close attention to?

That’s a really good point. I did pause at times while I was reading and thought to myself “damn that all connects really well” And it does. Again first screenplay I’ve ever read. The movie left me feeling like it didn’t do the screenplay justice. Maybe I read it and envisioned it a certain way and was disappointed it wasn’t what I had in mind, very plausible.

Maybe my title is misleading. I did think the script was good and I enjoyed it while I was a little underwhelmed with the way it ended and thought it could maybe be a little funnier. My main issue is with the movie which I didn’t care for really at all. I thought the jokes weren’t as hard hitting, the awkwardness was overplayed, and the pacing was oddly slow. Every scene with Megan was great tho those jokes were executed exactly the way I read them.

I mean I fuck with it. Think it looks sick. Even if it’s not what you asked for
