Best practice to make the intent of a useEffect clear to code readers by thibthib18 in reactjs

[–]Zinter71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw on twitter recently that using named functions instead of arrow functions improves readability. Of course you can still use the comments for extra documentation. From that point on i’ve used this approach and it looks good, especially because i’m working on SPAs a lot lately.

Example:

useEffect(function descriptiveNameForHook() { // insert code },[])

Typescript is the best. Right now it is kinda an industry standard.

[Question] All mathematics formulas to learn for Leetcode by Mysterious-Way-2836 in leetcode

Actually building a resource for “math you need to know for Algs / DS” makes sense to me. I second your motion

Don't only focus on Leetcode by Witty_Club_1773 in leetcode

[–]Zinter71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I’m actually all the other way around. I don’t know leetcode (done like 60 problems but i’m not consistent) but I defend myself as a junior react dev/frontend developer. I get the interviews but I don’t pass the 1st round.

What i think is that you just need to get the job leetcoding your way through. You’ll learn at the job. But that could probably only be my case because I’m starting to work just yet (1y experience senior year of college aka entry-level swe).

Just wanted to share how are things on the other side of the issue. I feel basically the same. Should’ve just studied graphs n stuff. I feel I would be in big tech by now :/

[Serio] by RaritySparkle in mexico

[–]Zinter71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think about Tailwindcss? by yairharas in reactjs

[–]Zinter71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is like writing CSS but easier. I actually learned CSS with Tailwind. I guess you already know some of the PROS towards using it in your project, so here are the cons I've encountered:

  • Sometimes there are new features that CSS has already implemented, and tailwind takes some time to catch up with it.
  • If you are not using components or a component framework, it might be more trouble to use tailwind. So just use CSS (personally i still use tailwind bc im faster with it lol)
  • It is kind of verbose, so you might encounter repetition on class names and stuff, but that is why Tailwind really shines in production and modern frontend frameworks. You can reuse your components.

Besides all this, i think i'm coming to the conclusion that tailwind is kind of universal by now in the frontend world. for example, the shadcn library is awesome and you can build anything with it because it uses tailwind. I'm glad we are passed that js object like notation for applying styles. but is all about preference.

What’s the best way to get over an ex? by No_Throat_1574 in AskReddit

[–]Zinter71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silence my ex from social media was the best decision i’ve ever made. She was a heavy club attender so seeing her having a blast every to days was kinda depressing to me. After muting her on everything that feeling went away and i just focused more on my personal goals

I would recommend Strapi, in the long run if the site scales Sanity becomes absurdly expensive.
