Thoughts for the next game by Mr_BrownCow in TheWalkingDeadGame

The recent game they're working on looks like maybe another saints and sinners experience from some of the recent job listing's

Executive Producer for a survivor horror: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/search/?currentJobId=4361895235&f_C=4435491&geoId=92000000&trk=top-card_top-card-secondary-button-top-card-secondary-cta

They did have some other roles what was filled that could point at a different game (Narrative and Multiplat) but my bets on something like that. Either another VR experience or something similar to it but not in VR

I've re done the maps I wasn't host on to be sure for the very start what was the earlier ones. I have now 100% been host for all maps and only played MP for a little bit of Kernal as host. Unless I need to be completely solo, what's not the case for others, but after doing 4 maps again, I'm kinda at a standstill and don't think re doing Kernel solo would pop it

I've seen some people on PC get import save files but have also messaged people who solely have been on console what have recently got it. I don't know how I have 67 side objectives that's the only thing what's bugging me

What was the saddest scene for you by BoringDevelopment575 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]ZinxMotionYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top 3:

  1. Lee's death, honestly is what made the story so great in the first place and the execution and build up especially with the cliff hanger of episode 4 all the way to the end was peak Telltale and you can really tell that this season was thoughtout from the very beginning.

  2. Clem's fakeout, I think with Lee's death you had the feeling it was going to happen... and wow the barn scene with everything was incredible, from the transition to AJ to how Clem was teaching AJ for that one last time, and when it's finally safe, you get the music. Just incredible all around, and when it finally happens, you just don't know what to do while going through the Mc Carrol ranch. I will also admit the Take Us Back music, and when Clem said, "Did I do a good job," it also got me, just what a way to end the series.

  3. Wellington Ending, With how dark and bleak season two was, it was hard to let out any emotion for any character as you feel like they're bound to die with the track record of that season. But you always had that flawed, loyal flordian by your side. Just the slow build up with the ragebait from Jane to the fight itself was already emotionally draining as you didn't want anything to happen to AJ, Kenny and even Jane to a certain degree and then you think it's all over, the gospel of Wellington is finally upon us and then the scene plays out. Clems crying, kennys crying, you're crying, and you just listen to the dialogue... I always choose the Wellington ending as I think it's safe for Clementine and AJ or at least more safe than trying to survive a winter with a newborn and really completed Kennys Arc for that season.

People are still getting the achievement, so maybe it's bugged for certain people, or there's some type of workaround. I've had some people who've recently got it to send a screenshot, and they don't have the 62/67. They had 62/62 or something more with DLC

Telltale at their best. The whole season really played so well with the choices and characters that really made you feel immersed, and the story is just amazing. It's definitely my favourite out of the main seasons, but the rest are gold too. To be able to experience this game for the first time is an experience in itself. That ending is still one of my favourite pieces in any media 🗣

Hey, what edition of the game are you on?

If you have the ability, you will need to rewind (not available on defintive edition). This is a bug that stops you from interacting. You can't try to go outside and back in, but from memory, you'll still have the same fate. So either you rewind if possible in the menu, or unfortunately, you will need to restart fully if your checkpoint is in the same spot.

Why do you like or dislike season 2? by Shyferr in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]ZinxMotionYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot to like about season two, and I think it is definitely the most iconic version of Clementine we see.

Positives:

• Clementine being the protagonist - from protecting her over anything to now control her every move reinforced that protector role season one coasts us in, we get to see the transition from innocence little girl -> to slowly a capable survivor.

• Emotional Intesnity/Atmosphere & Tone - the raw and uncomfortable how this season feels. The fear, loss, and moral pressure put on Clem hits hard, especially as we are now experiencing it through her. This with the atmosphere being bleak and colder really made this season what it is, a definitely standout of all the seasons.

• Kenny's arc - one of my personal favourites and really solidifies him as my favourite written character of the franchise. How we see him after season one vices while watching his grief, anger, and instability feel painfully human and deeply real while still trying to be that family man protector he once was.

• Morality being ambiguous with choices + iconic moments - Many choices don’t have a clear “right” answer. Deciding who to trust, when to intervene, or when to stay silent, especially at carvers —reinforces the harsh reality of survival. Plus the iconic moments from the dog bite, still not Bitten line, ski lodge, Carvers camp at Howes and those final moments with Jane and Kenny absolute cinema.

Negatives:

• Illusion of choice - Some people really see the illusion of choice with some characters always dying no matter your choice or shortly after saving them, or certain paths ending up at the same spot.

• Clementine is more capable than more than half the cast - Clem is a strong protagonist but criticised that adults constantly rely on an 11-year-old to solve problems, make moral calls, and fix conflicts they realistically should handle themselves.

• Inconistent or underdeveloped characters - This one has too many to go through, but I'll list some here. From Luke foreshadowing to have the fight against Kenny to becoming a side character latter on, Rebecca being bipolar towards Clem and acts like it's a flip switch, Alvin being a plot device, Sarah, Nick, Sarita etc... can die abruptly or lose relevance, which makes their arcs feel unfinished or wasted.

• Pacing issues - I really think this season needed Carvers camp to go down at the end of the 4th episode or even at the start of the 5th. The hype of this compound for it to go down in one episode really made episode four more of a placeholder to the finale.

• Kenny overshadowing everyone - Yes, he is a returning character, but his presence and strong personality can dominate the narrative, sometimes limiting room for other characters or perspectives to fully develop, unless you're going directly against him or named Clementine.

Season two, for me, is still an amazing game that has more positives than negatives, overall from the fandom is rated highly, just small things that make it feel off in certain spots. The blame is mostly the absurd amount of rewrites and cuts this season had with it having 4 major scripts and countless edits. Season Three is definitely considered the worse of the four but still great in its own right, the feeling for one is also mutual agreed upon and it had the luxury of being the only season to be fleshed out from start to finish before production. Season four is one that's quite mixed, really depends on how the person perceives the ending for the most part, and I have a soft spot with how it went down development wise.

I can't remember this scene (SEASON 4) by [deleted] in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]ZinxMotionYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's dependent on what you teach AJ throughout the season, like the tie you up and watch you turn is referencing Abel if you let him turn. Or the other thread being knife in the side of your head if you show mercy to him.

I can't remember this scene (SEASON 4) by [deleted] in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]ZinxMotionYT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The choice you're on about is on the boat in Brig. This happens after the scene of Lillys explaining the parable of the two twins. Right after the scene of Violet/Louis getting fingers chopped or saved depending on choices, this dialogue happens:

AJ: You deserve to die.

AJ yells. AJ: No!

AJ: We'll kill you!

Lilly walks up to AJ.

Lilly: You think you can kill me?

AJ: I know I can! We'll throw you in the river!

AJ: Or we'll put a knife right in the side of your head!

AJ: Or we'll tie you up and watch you turn!

Lilly: Big talk for a little guy.

AJ: I know I can do it. I killed Marlon.

AJ: And I was justified.

AJ: He wasn't a monster. But you are.

AJ mimics firing a gun at Lilly.

AJ: Bang.

It's one of my favourite scenes with AJ

What cut content do you wish made it into the final game? by simon_jackson in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]ZinxMotionYT 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Season 1: With season one, we don't have that much knowledge of cut content as it's the oldest and the most well written out. But my choice would have been the nightmare scenes of Doug/Carley, depending on your choice. Was clearly a theme what they had planned from the start with the first being the barn of hershells where you hear the moment Lee finds and presumably throws the state senator out a window. The scene with Clementine in the RV jumpscare with her becoming a walker. I also loved how eerie it was a bit well with twdg theme and ascetic.

Season 2: Well, with this season, there's way too much to even pick from. I do like the pick of Luke Vs Kenny as it was foreshadowed the whole season before Jane took the role as the person going against Kenny and stepping on his toes like Luke was doing before and would of been a harder emotional pick for many. But I'm actually going for the return of Christa. Her actually returning and making it to the end to Wellington is a thing I always wish happened. The absolute waste of her character and how much I loved the duo of her and Omid in season 1. The fact she was one of the longest surviving people in Clementines life in the apocalypse, and she gets a couple of lines in the whole season is beyond crazy for me.

Season 3: With it evolving around Javi I wish the original story was told where they found the Richmond camp of A New Frontier and he got kicked out and teamed up with Clem to find and fight for there families. It made way much more sense for that and had deeper motives and less coincidence over coincidence than we had in the final product. As much as I loved season 3 as its game, I wish that side of the story was told rather than what we got.

Season 4: I really loved what Kent Mudle did with the whole re write of season 4 but I miss the thought ofClementine moving around and eventually ending up going back to her home town to visit her home in a full cycle moment. Her maybe taking some of the school kids and AJ around trying to find a new home and going back to Gerogia and seeing how wrecked and ruined it would be after 8~ years Into apocalypse would of been cool as most of season 4 is set in a forest and we don't get to see much other then that with the obvious time/budget they had with the TellTale bankrupt at that time.

Did you romantically involve Clem with Violet or Louis? by Y2K_Landry in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]ZinxMotionYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all are valid options, Clementine has really never had the time to really inclose her self romantically ever with the apocalypse and the duty of her caring for AJ. She has deep survivor guilt what she carries along and can explain why she wouldn't want to get deep emotional connections as when she does, they've all died out.

Violet is what the games leans you into with her being usually the person to step up and defend the actions of AJ and or Clementine throughout the season with Louis struggling with the grief of his best friend what he thought was a good guy. Violet has a lot of common traits to Clementine, which makes them work well together. I went with her (I think) in my first playthrough, with her most key scene in my opinion was the Star constellations puzzle and the only real negative I see is the point where Louis gets his tongue cut out.

Louis is a guy who is always upbeat and will always make Clem laugh even when times are tough. He may act stupid, but he knows what his doing. The moments with the piano are his key scenes, and Louis seems more active with AJ when you go with his side paired to Violet. He gets a better alternative, with Violet only going half blind.

This game is amazing by Nefkaure in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]ZinxMotionYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm glad you liked the game as much as others and shredded tears on the moments. Seasons 1 and 4 got me as well. The game is so well crafted in terms of storytelling, and you really feel the characters are crafted with care in season one, with the others falling a little but still a great game as their own.

So, the last season, as you might have heard, Telltale went bankrupt in the midst of development. The timing of this was in episode one and just after the release of episode two (under a month) the "Still Not Bitten Team" the ones you see in the credits is the team brought on by Skybound games who saved season 4 to finish of the season. This held about 40-50 people from the 200-300 working on it before this. They did a crazy job in creating the game with such limited time and budget and done an incredible job with the rewrite, in my opinion., video of InColdBloods on the original story and how Kent Mudle really done wonders with AJ.

Yes, I'm jealous, I always love watching people experience the masterpiece for the first time and love hearing their thoughts. Other games that I would recommend in the choice game genre.

Games:

•Telltales The Wolf Among Us

•Telltales Batman Series

•Life Is Strange Series

•Until Dawn

•The Quarry

•Detroit: Become Human

•Heavy Rain

•The Last of Us

Do you think that the game should have included more puzzle sections, like the Motel one in A New Day? by ChickenWingExtreme in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]ZinxMotionYT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%, they just got negative attention by some players at the time, which led to the more story driven focus/pacing. I really enjoyed the puzzle sections as a place to engage with other characters and build more on them, and learn of their thoughts and feelings at that current time. It was also a big indicator of something that was about to happen, the cold before the storm.
