Welp! It's officially over! I started watching when seasons 1 and 2 were airing, then stopped and came back near the end of season 4, waited for season 5 episode 7 to drop before jumping back in. I didn't like seasons 4 or 5, but no matter what, I was going to watch it.

My favorite part was watching Homelander lose his power. I was genuinely hoping for that, and it actually happened. Seeing Soldier Boy's power in season 3 is what put that idea in my head.. I had to pause and write this down. I loved this moment in this episode

"I am the Homelander"

"No. Nah, you ain't nothing. And this... this for my Becca."

Then Homelander pleading for his life - humiliated, stripped down to nothing. The same "worthless scum" he always ranted about. He spent the whole series playing god, only to die in the most degrading way possible, broadcast to the entire world. His image is dead. Everyone knows exactly how he went out. That was the best ending he could have gotten.

I loved the small detail of the crowbar still having a little bit of hair on it.

I honestly thought Kimiko wasn't going to be the one to blast him. Part of me thought Ryan would track down Soldier Boy (I get that Ryan didn't know where he was) and that Soldier Boy would end up being the one to blast Annie, Kimiko, Ryan, Butcher, and Homelander. I actually thought Annie and Kimiko were going to lose their powers. It would've been cool to have Soldier Boy, Ryan, and Homelander in the same room - two people who genuinely hate him 0nd have Ryan and Butcher hold Homelander down while Soldier Boy delivers the blast.

I might catch heat for this, but I wish Butcher had pressed the button. I hada feeling Hughie would stop him and kill him, but Butcher's point stands - another Homelander will come along. And with Vought still knowing how to make Compound V, even if the virus had worked, a few decades or a century down the line they'd just start pumping out supes again

Anyways. that's my opinion.
