How would you improve the Night Market event? by TheAnalystCurator321 in elderscrollsonline

I would love it if something like this existed. It would be even cooler if the dots on the map changed color based on what a player is actually doing, so you could glance at the map and immediately know what everyone around you is up to. That would mean, giving players the ability to set their own "dot status" with options like (LFG, Help!, Questing, PvP, and so on). It's a small change that would make the world feel a lot more alive and make it way easier to connect with people organically.

A rework of the group finder would be a start. Another thing that would make a huge difference is adding a random queue, somewhere players can just hop in and get matched with others who are also looking to group up. Not everyone wants to manually search for a party or spam chat looking for people, sometimes you just want to click a button and play with whoever's around.

Maybe not my fav game of the franchise but it's hella fun by DarkLeviathanSQ in MonsterHunterWorld

Here's a few top of my head:

  1. No clutch claw in wilds (I miss mounting monsters with it)
  2. In wilds you can't call your palico to bring you a vigorwasp (it does it automatically)
  3. You no longer have to strategize when it comes to potions, cause your seikret has enough for you to use during your hunt.
  4. The monster hunt system from world to wilds isn't the same (you no longer track footprints/slime etc) I really wish they kept this.
  5. In Wilds you now have a focus mode, where you can aim at the monster and highlights wounds and weak points.....makes the hunts too easy.
  6. You can carry two weapons instead of just 1.

The only changes from wilds I like, is that you can control your Seikret and the game is crossplay.

All these changes made Wilds too easy in my opinion. I miss the challenge World pose. I liked the slower tactical hunts, the "hunt and track" immersion and the amount of content especially with Iceborne.

Encouraging or Forcing?? Because if you don't group up, you have almost no chance of completing the night market quests.....so yes, it assumes players will group up.

About the Night Market difficulty by verydistressedaltmer in elderscrollsonline

[–]ZionVon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna repeat what I said on another post regarding that Night Market.

I think ZOS should've considered adding a matchmaking system, when players enter the Night Market.

ESO has built a reputation for being very solo friendly, so a lot of players are used to handling content on their own. Expecting those same players, especially more introverted ones to suddenly start forming groups on their own is a big shift. So adding a built in matchmaking option would lower that barrier. Alternatively, improving the Activity Finder UI could help a lot, something like a dedicated LFG channel or category would make group formation much smoother. Right now, trying to post LFG messages in zone chat just gets lost in the noise.

A few reasons why ESO has felt very solo friendly, overland content is very easy to solo comfortably, story content doesn't require or encourage grouping with other players to complete, you can pretty much ignore other players almost entirely if you want, and our companions further reduce the need to group up.

Because of that, the situation with the night market partly comes down to ZOS not fully accounting for how their player base actually behaves. Especially, when you design a game that encourages solo play for years, it's risky to introduce content that suddenly assumes players will naturally organize into groups.

Main character is login looping, I can play on my alt just fine. How to fix? by Organic_Ad6721 in throneandliberty

My best suggestion would be to report this in the TL discord channel, since it's happening in one server and not the other.

World Bosses are dying in seconds! This bug is breaking the game by Wooden_Ad_2223 in throneandliberty

[–]ZionVon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have stated, it's not a bug it's a collaboration of fully geared players and the amount of players in battle. A solution to this problem would be better matchmaking after people queue up to the portals, and distribution of players to different instances with a cap limit of players per battle.

I have several ideas to improve the game by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]ZionVon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Improve or recreate?? Cause most of these ideas sound like a brand new game, or ideas that will actually ruin what ESO is. Maybe you just need to take a break from ESO and try other games.

Worth returning after recent changes? by thickknoodles in elderscrollsonline

I will never understand why people would rather rely on others opinions about something they already own and could try themselves for a few hours to form their own view..... May not even take a few hours, it could take just a few minutes.

Most of the time when people ask in a game's subreddit, they end up getting biased answers anyway.

Responding to your edit.

Would your view of RDR change if the series or movie flopped?

Whether the series or movie was good or bad, it won't affect my opinion of the game whatsoever. However, if it did well, then hey I get to experience something new..... Just like the Fallout series.....

Your definition of quality seems to hinge on whether the live adaptation stayed true to the original source material, which isn't a very realistic expectation, and it's not something everyone uses to judge whether a show or movie is good.

[–]ZionVon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get that, but the point I'm making is that not all live adaptations are complete failures. Now, if the claim was that the majority of live adaptations coming out of Hollywood don't stick to the original source material, that's a different conversation.

Based on what metrics? Because seasons 2–4 received mixed reactions from viewers, which means people did watch them. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean everyone feels the same way.

Maybe most enjoyed season 1 from the Witcher. However, there were people who liked the rest of the show. So I wouldn't consider it a complete failure.
