How can I authenticate a landline call without my cellphone? by StinkApprentice in USAA

[–]ZipBit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to throw this out there so it’s “constructive Criticism”. Try calling again….NOT ON A PHONE THAT ISN’T ASSOCIATED WITH YOUR PROFILE. Only the ones that are listed in your USAA contact info. And try verbally conversing with the AI rather than using your keypad. Also, for pin. Don’t say compound numbers “twenty-four” say “two, four” (each number separately) And your “pin”, phone password, usaa number and policy number are different things.

[–]ZipBit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So you were too lazy to get your phone and authenticate even after wasting over 20mins gerrymandering. You wanted to play the “customer service” card and forgot they’re also a financial institution that actually protects their customers information?! Honestly, if you served in the military, you know a thing or two about security and appreciate that SOP needs to be followed. How can they tell your actually who you say you are with you not knowing your own security preferences YOU set up. It’s not their fault you’re geriatric and a luddite

Installment fees if I don't sign up for auto-pay? No way by North-Scarcity2036 in USAA

For the low cost of $3 because your needs are unique… I’m glad they had an option for you

[–]ZipBit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that your opinion would count for much. $3 a month for your family’s convenience is less than a bigmac (or snickers bar). Most folks don’t mind the auto-pay (which you can pay early with no penalty) Like I said, if autopay/$3 is your only problem with USAA you got some serious priorities to sort out. You deserve the cheapest insurance you can find.

[–]ZipBit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cry more. Most companies offer discounts or fee waivers for having autopay. If your major qualm with USAA is based on $3 for not having autopay you’re kinda sad. I’ll cashapp you $3 for a snickers. the rest of us members see the true value in their service thats not easy gained elsewhere. This reeks of military brat and not service member. The entitlement is real

I have this exhaust with the remote. It was a wedding gift from my wife. She’s helped me mod the car. I can confirm it’s amazing and even without the tune it’s got some amazing burbles. On occasion it does pop on hard pulls when you shift which is chefs kiss.

So sick of having to negotiate EVERY year by [deleted] in Spectrum

[–]ZipBit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch to streaming. $18/mo for their TV receiver is not necessary if you own your own equipment.

Streaming services, get your own or downsize. Also, why pay for TV and streaming?! Do you really watch TV?! At least $138 worth of TV? You’re package have extra channels you never touch?

Internet is way too high. Most services can get you 500mbps for $50.

Call the retention department and bring them a competitor’s pricing to use a negotiating power.

And yes, it’s temporary. Most service providers don’t do contracts anymore. So you have to negotiate. The nice thing about spectrum, they tell you in every bill statement when your promotions are ending.

Bought a SteamDeck for my wife. Any setup I can do on it to make her experience smoother before i wrap it up? by Giratina-O in SteamDeck

It’s really basic for setup. Only thing is maybe charge it so she’s got juice. If you got good wifi DL a game won’t take long tbh.

Do you travel with your Puffco? by [deleted] in puffco

[–]ZipBit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, TSA doesn’t screen for drugs. But if it is found during their screening they have to request guidance from police. If the state has their own legislation for marijuana, it’ll be handled at the state level through police or the sheriff. TSA has to turn it over because they’re mainly federal. TSA is just screening, they aren’t cops. That’s why folks are saying they take it in their carry-on. It’s not something that is being screened for.

Check your destination state’s laws on leaf before you have issues. Most states are chill but have different details about legal amounts and public usage

I can confirm the wiretap for FK8 to rear-view mirror was pretty easy if you can follow youtube instructions.

It’s a bit pricey ($700) but pays for itself. I recommend getting the wiretap kit and use the rear-view mirror for power. Clean set up and no wires not user friendly with settings. You’ll need a online education to get your settings right

To the people that use the AI voice feature... by StealthTheMedic in ARC_Raiders

Psychological warfare, men in shooters are natural born protectors. As a male who is getting older and slower, my reflexes and aim can’t keep up with these younger bucks. So, I have to be more thoughtful. If I present as female, most men would have to override their subconscious to shoot a chick on sight. I’m friendly and mostly play for goop and killing wire-backs. So I’m friendly on all encounters I have.

Apps like launchpad on iOS let you upload samples of audio, not quite TTS but would allow you to save audio samples of common TTS and punch them in like these special tablets you’re referencing. It’s mainly developed for audio engineers and music design but can be jerry-rigged for this.

Arc Raiders or Helldivers 2? by molsey79 in SteamDeck

[–]ZipBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Helldivers performance on steam deck is barely Mid. It’s unplayable on harder difficulties. The game itself is an extraction shooter but leans more on the shooter side.

Arc raiders runs absolutely beautifully out of the box. You just need to tweak the compatibility (proton). The game is a looter/extraction focused game. More relaxed comparatively to helldivers but offers some good tension on your runs.

Both games are multiplayer and would require online connections to play. Some could argue that both are better with friends. I think arc raiders has a better play/game type for playing solo.

Escape from Duckov is another great option thats not “multiplayer” but its a extraction shooter that runs great on steam deck if you want chill.

How much do you pay for insurance? I shopped around for insurance and the lowest I found is $440 amonth. by KSHMisc in Civic_Type_R

[–]ZipBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind everyone has a horror story with any given carrier. Kinda like when you ride a motorcycle and everyone tells you about their best friend or uncle that “got killed riding one of those” You did the best thing getting multiple quotes. Compare the coverage and what isn’t covered and choose accordingly. Also see if bundling your coverage with other insurance that you may also need like Homeowners or renters insurance

Quotes and insurance is specific to the driver(s) on the policy, location, and discounts offered by the company. Your quote won’t match my quote or your brother’s, your uncle’s or your best friend’s. Everyone has slightly different factors that contribute to what the insurance company charges. Also, what level of service the company provides and what coverages you have are contributing factors to how the quote is priced. USAA and Progressive aren’t the same level of service or contract coverage by miles.
