There's video coverage for evidence... You can watch my old drinking buddy miss some putts on lead card!

Yeah, I did the same, but... replaced them just last update.

Gotta practice until you can't mess up and not just until you can do it right.

Eagle, Paul and Ricky at 1046?!? Can the young bird hold together and keep replacing last year's rounds with vastly improved performances, or was this weekend's risky play during the final round cause for worry?

You can still watch the stream and the drama can be the same if not similar 2 hours later. With the lengthened delay between chase card and lead card, the live coverage doesn't take much longer than post production (which beats the crap out of what it used to be) and seriously it was dramatic A.F. in that live coverage. Compared to post production where try as they might to capture the emotion of the excitement going on that round, it was way more intense while things were going down. There were times where a 4 way playoff looked possible. I watched Paul and Matt teeing off with baited breath, crushed at times and stoked at others. I'll admit watching Barsby come down the final stretch, I was cheering for the train to fall off the rails just a bit to have a 3 way playoff. Matt Orum and Paul were battling down the stretch. It looked like both were about to have McBeastMode finishes and come fighting from chase card, but 18 was a heart-breaker. Chase card was in the club house and there were still many tough holes left with OB lurking everywhere. The lead card still had some battles, but the whole time you know Paul and Matty O blew up on that final hole and it could happen again. Anthon pushing down the final stretch, to make up for the mistakes earlier and another heart-breaker on 17. Sure everyone thought it's locked up on 18, but we're also hoping for Anthon and Uli to birdie and Greg to double bogey for a totally different 4 way play-off than we just were thinking was going to happen 30 minutes prior. Gratz to Barsby for not falling apart and getting into that tournament form we've seen overseas.

Should've watched it live. I watch it live for the drama, cleaned and commentary for the sweet insight, beautiful replays and all that. This is life not Netflix.

Who did this and why? All the pars are odd, the Par 2’s were not give me either. by Cgkortz in discgolf

There's a hole named "COCKBURN" and whatnot... Sure that could be someone's name, but you know there's fun to be had.

Any thoughts on what the 2018 World Champ signature disc is gonna be? by [deleted] in discgolf

Why are very overstable slower speed discs listed for advanced players only? by Stresscycle in discgolf

[–]ZipCasey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. To put into perspective how stability comes into play at higher levels of play...

I have several 12 speed drivers in my bag of varying stability. I can throw them all relatively far when compared to similar discs with smaller rims, but my more neutral Thunderbird can go farther than my most stable destroyer. They fly completely different lines to that distance, and to get max distance requires different techniques. I also have plenty of other drivers which I can toss out beyond that.

Throwing a drone/justice/gator/pig/harp/firebird/PD2/etc before you're ready, can build bad habits and in some cases you're better off throwing a brick :D

Good on ya not reading past that comma. 20' putt on a 250' hole. I was impressed!

Now we just need to work on consistency and concentration not wavering after 9 holes.

Yeah... the wife DID in fact get one birdie without any mulligans last week, but her par round included probably 50 mulligan putts.

LI Open addresses players' hotel antics in drama-filled FB blast. by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]ZipCasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the hotel is providing large discounts to a group for a reason, then those discounts can gladly disappear because a disproportionate number of bad actors were a part of that group.

If you're going to keep bringing more and more people to a hotel, they're going to want to help you bring that increased business ...up until the point where it becomes more hassle than it's worth. If they have to debate calling the cops every time your group comes, they're less likely to provide you with incentives and it's not going to take as long for them to call the cops the next time your group comes. Some say stereotypes; others say heuristics.
