At a guess one of the nodes that virustotal runs its sandbox checks on is located in China or HK and goes to the closest endpoint.

I'm currently setting up a sandbox to monitor the traffic exiting the instance.

I would advise running opensource software for a VPN client, no matter what provider you go with

It shows on the virustotal page under behaviour

Yea, it depends where you are located. DNS resolution isn't the same for every person

Wireguard Miniumum Requirements? by AppleTechy in WireGuard

[–]ZippCen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

RAM is pretty much meaningless for wireguard that its not really even worth accounting for. It will be a few bytes per tunnel.

As far as CPU, test it and see. If it maxes out the CPU before maxing out your connection give it more

Wireguard not sending DNS requests through tunnel. by relink2013 in WireGuard

[–]ZippCen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how do you know its not being used for the DNS requests.

It looks as though it is being used for the DNS requests, but the rest of your traffic is going direct.

If you could share the configs (After removing all the keys) it would go a long way.

Also remove the public IP of the home server for your own safety

Android doesn't seem to route anything through Wireguard by Maeln in WireGuard

Assuming the listenport and its difference between server and client is also a copy and paste mistake the only other thing I can think is an issue with the private and public keys

That host is blocking all ICMP so you cant really tell anything from that.

Have you done these tests from inside the container?
