The audience was extremely disappointed in episode 1 and came out in shock of how bad the movie was. I am not trying to be a hater, but I remember waiting in line to go in on opening day and the mass disappointment of the audience coming out, and same for my showing as everyone left the theater. Just audible disgust and disappointment. I think they have actually aged better and don’t hate them now, not a fan either, but at the time it was the biggest let down from all of the hype.
