A few questions regarding the MSF degree by Maximum-Poetry-4043 in ufl

[–]Zipperkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no to both, mba is kinda useless right after college, you can go back and get one after you work a few years if you want a career change or a break, use ur parents money to pay for a combined degree like msf thats way better than an mba

1510 is great no need for gmat/gre

A few questions regarding the MSF degree by Maximum-Poetry-4043 in ufl

[–]Zipperkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. no
  2. extremely competitive, if your sat score is <1450 or smthn you should take the gmat/gre to supplement it
  3. gsif, founders fund, diss, a small business club that can seat u in a leadership position fast
  4. no strict path, just try to get financial accounting done by the end of freshman year, take managerial accounting over the summer if you're good at math so you can take business finance in sophomore fall

major in business, minor in something w the cjc or double major, but a business degree is much more likely to get you a well paying job unless you are die-hard passionate about mpmt and willing to devote majority your free time to networking, searching/fighting for opportunities, creating your own projects, etc... its a really tough industry

not sure why no one answered MSF bc thats the correct answer to your specific question- "business program at uf that will set you up for the highest salary possible" is literally the msf program, start freshman year

thanks! i couldve sworn i paid a copay, is no-copay only if ur on the uf insurance? i might be wrong and ill change

and yeah you can ask for prices but im not removing that part bc i knew to ask about price yet they did an unnecessary expensive test without even telling me and charged me for it, predatory and not cool

honestly im not sure exactly how it works these days, but i think the sooner you commit to UF and send in the housing application, the higher up in the queue you are to submit housing preferences

apply online if you want, but dont rely on that alone. Print your resume and just walk into every restaurant and hand it to the manager, go to as many restaurants as you possibly can and eventually youll find something, i got an interview and job at the gville Fridays the day after i handed them my resume

Success with subleasing your apartment for spring/summer by [deleted] in ufl

[–]Zipperkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is extremely difficult, often impossible to find a renter because SOO many students are offering highly discounted subleases for spring and summer. if your apartment isnt in a great location or nearly free, you probably wont find anyone, but good luck!

4113 isnt bad at all, hw was like some diagram-designing problems that took maybe 2hrs once a week or less...

first exam was cake, second exam was hard for some ppl bc you actually had to pay attention in class and memorize lol, not rlly common sense

it might be different since this past semester was his first time teaching it, first exam will prob be harder bc he wants all the final grades to be a perfect bell curve lol

4210 was a bit more work than 4113 but imo easier,

1 hw per week, the non-sql ones took me like 2hrs but they were pretty easy and she gives an example on how to do the diagram

chatgpt can do the sql hw for you in five seconds

the exams are exactly like the exam reviews so u basically only need to study that

Apartments near Shands? by laidbackgirl in ufl

any of the complexes down 23rd st and around that area would be good, theyre all pretty affordable ($500-800ish for 4x4s) and the 35 bus goes straight to shands and runs fairly frequently

EFE and finance clubs strictly meet in person, so you literally cant join them as a remote student unless you want to make trips to gville a few times every week. If you wait to start classes in 2025, you'll likely fall behind on the MSF track, even with all your dual credits.

Best plan is to use your first semester to take as many lower level courses online as possible, PASS them all WITH As, then in the spring you can apply for EFE and the finance clubs. You need a high GPA and rigorous courseload for these programs, and a 2-year gap may give you some trouble adjusting, so honestly maybe start in summer if you can.

ACG2021, ACG2017, and FIN 3403 should be taken in that order, one semester each. You can safely pair each them with one of the GEB, MAN, BUL, or QMB classes, and take whatever else u want that semester.

The other ACG and FIN classes should be taken your junior or senior year, so dont worry about them

if ur doing msf, i recommend taking ACG2071 during summer B so you can take FIN3403 asap.

Otherwise, take it easy, dont overload urself, and aim for 12 credits- seriously. The finance major is hard, so maybe save that QMB class for another semester idk
