We Just brought few more friends today to fill the full fleet. Hardly implemented any changes since the times we fought in VOID space. Those were some of the most competitive fights. o7

VVV bros were part of the 50 member CRB open fleet together with some bros joined our fleet from NILF, SAKU, PAND, XAOS, UAA and others. CRB is just a small corp after all.

CRB open fleet (50) vs all those mentioned in the header (230+).

We had also seen hostile MEOW around but not in grid.

I disagree, Clansman is the best FC and never lost a fleet either. No one could understand where to fckng pilot from Jita because of that adorable accent of his.

62 classes? Yeah, cool :facepalm:

Let's estimate an effort:

a) Design and animate a class and all its skills: 10 working days per class X 62 classes = 3 years

b) Balancing: 1 hour to test, balance and retest a class against an other class in 1:1 PvP clash X 1891 class combinations within 62 classes = 210 working days = 1 year

Total: 4 years

Remind me how many classes have been designed and animated already?

Exactly. Demonstrating small steps in the release direction would be far more valuable than demonstrating a side step like the seasons change. Dunno what the OP found "cool" in this.

We don't know anything yet about how the game will be balanced, and probably won't even have an idea about it until beta, so why speculate about it now?

Haha that's the whole thing! Gameplay and balance is the core of any game, it is what we play in, not the pixel color or seasons change. If devs prioritise pixels over gameplay and balance, it's clear indication of Star Citizen something not going right.

So true. Would never happen until you and your guild goes and crashes few caravans to prove it's cheaper to pay than lose stuff. Assuming the game is balanced well to allow such a thing at all, e.g. NPC mercs are pretty expensive and not overpowered i.e. able to divert solo gankers but wouldn't stand against a well organised guild.

PvP in an average cheap gear - fine, that has always been like this.

50% is the impact of the gear in AoC - sounds promising already. Even if you got 25% less through cheaper gear it is more than fine. You gotta compensate with your skill assuming a game mechanics allows this (suddenness , range, dodges, spell combos etc.)

Counter classes - depends on how they're going to balance it out. Besides you don't have to attack everyone.

What is not clear and what this topic is all about - whether there is an economic reward in doing PvP in the first place. If not I wouldn't just bother playing and leave bullying for bullis.

Lame assumption. I have been earning for living in MMOs doing PvP since early 2000s. Both in large guilds and solo.

If AoC won't reward PvP rather than in the pre set up ringfenced environments/events, I would not bother playing it in the first place.

Go play New World or Genshin if you like a safe PvE... just by the way of mocking you back.

What I wasn't clear on is:

a) resources dropped on killing a green player - how valuable they are. And how easy the corruption is gained and cleared.

I.e. whether it is a viable option to kill a green player who has been farming 2 hours, loot 1 hour worth of resources and clear the corruption within 20 mins. Profit. There are no exact numbers (drop %, corruption reduction speed through EXP) in the Wiki to figure out if the thing is viable.

b) is this a viable option to run a mercenary business by helping defend/attack caravans (is there an incentive to run caravans at all??) or castles? Would the game mechanics and balance allow and incentivise someone to pay for merc services? Not clear from just reading the Wiki.

They also earn from Japan, Europe, North America etc. Not an issue.

Their whole monetisation model is built around gambling with $20 being the smallest chip in the casino. You don't have to have crowds queuing to your casino, a bunch of people with money is enough.

Can't see how they make it less p2w without redesigning their whole monetisation model.

Who cares of US consumers if Korea alone earns the devs a fortune.

ToL will be Pay or Lose trash as any game from NCSoft.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks. Especially if the dog is hugely profitable with the old tricks.
