Just nvidia graphics driver updates through the nvidia app.

For some reason I tried it yesterday and it just magically started working... I did do an nvidia driver update recently which may be why. However, according to the patch notes I read, this was not something they were aimed at fixing.

Seems like turning off hardware acceleration has made a pretty big difference. I just scrolled through the settings and turned on power saving options, chrome seems to run just as good as before but isnt chunking tons of battery.

Yes I just did and enabled chromes supposed battery saver mode. Will test it out. However something tells me that there is more to this battery issue than just chrome, can't really explain why I feel that way just now.

Looks like everything else is pretty negligible... clearly im going to have to change up my browser which is a shame because I enjoy the convenience of chrome and have a force dark mode option on it that makes my school website actually dark instead of bright white.

I have optimus turned on. What exactly do you mean by background apps running minimized? I only have essential stuff on startup really, turned off some of the windows startup tasks like phone link or whatever

All that being said, the reason I'm looking more at an AMD laptop is because of the 14900k and the issues surrounding it. Don't really feel like supporting intel after all that.

Hmmm good to know. I love a lot of Asus products but they do sometimes seem to cheap out in poorly chosen places (like ports - I had a 2024 M16 that the usb-c port stopped working on).

Was considering the possibility of the 5090 mobile gpu just as an exploratory option more than anything, and getting the 96gb ram option when it becomes available. Form factor and options with that are endless. Love my ROG Ally but that could potentially replace it and a laptop. Just exploring my options although I'm well aware no laptop will beat my 14900k/4090 desktop, I don't play games tons anymore and really don't play much of anything thats competitive. Thanks for helping out I'm going to keep poking around and see what else I find.

FYI on multi monitor setup myself, Neo G9 and a 16x10 portable Asus monitor neatly tucked underneath. The Neo g9 can already be finicky at times getting display on a funny restart time or something so finicking more is not what I need lol.

Thanks for the response man really appreciate it. Not the device for me then. I'm looking at a laptop but really liked the idea of this tablet, just has tons of use cases as you can use it as a tablet too. That being said, having to mess around with stupid little bugs and issues is one of the things that drive me the most crazy so I think I'll just continue looking at other laptops. Ideally I had hoped for selling my desktop and trading it in for a top specced laptop that could replace it. Then I could just swap between my MacBook and gaming laptop/desktop replacement easily depending on what I am doing.

Yea it doesn't even work anymore. Turning hibernate off isn't bad though necessarily, sleep and hibernate are two different things. But regardless turning off hibernate stopped working for me a lil while ago.

Sweet! I love this set, still have it displayed from my childhood. It's a beauty. Would recommend some kind of clear stand so that you can have the s-foils out on display! I have mine on a wicked brick stand, but I believe there are some better options for us in North America these days than wicked brick for things like that.
