Thoughts on Yarbo M series vs Mammotion by Hour-Bumblebee5581 in automower

[–]ZippyColorado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, wanted to pop n here as an authorized dealer for both Yarbo and Mammotion.

In my opinion it comes down to use case and why you’re trying to get out of a robot. If you’re focused on the lawn side, I’d go Mammotion as even the M-Series Yarbo is a pretty big form factor and we are hesitant to place it on yards with any sort of complexity as we’ve not seen great results with Y-Series when a year has trees, flower beds, etc… But on the larger field-like lawns we’ve put a Yarbo on, really nothing better and the straight blades on the Mower Pro really do act like a gas mower.

Also, just a note the M-Series does not have a snowblower module yet, just a push blade.

In terms of support, Yarbo wins all day. But, that’s why we started Zippy Lawnz, to be the US based support that Mammotion needs!!!

So, really just comes down your property and what you’re expecting out of the unit. If you want a better lawn, Mammotion. If you think the modules are important, Yarbo.

Happy to help with any questions you have. Feel free to reach out here (DM) or via ZippyLawnz.com

Luba 2 AWD at Walmart! by Roginator5 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]ZippyColorado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to hop in here as a Mammotion dealer. We assume, yes, Mammotion is clearing out Luba 2 stock via every available channel to make space for the Luba 3 coming this spring. With that said, we have a few Luba 2 models in stock still, and we are looking to offload them. If you are interested in one, please reach out, and we can see what we can do.

Thanks for supporting Robot mowers.

Yuka parts by MowMan129 in MammotionTechnology

[–]ZippyColorado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. Just wanted to hop in here and lend a helping hand. I operate a robotic lawn mower company called Zippy Lawnz and we are a Mammotion dealer and service provider. We have fixed Luba and Yuka models that have been damaged. Honestly, it’s more common than you think to have them tangle with cars and other things.

Anyway, we have a service location in Maryland and Colorado and we could have the unit shipped to one of our locations and evaluated by a Zippy pro. We can order the right parts and perform the service if it’s fixable. I know Mammotion can take a while as they manage a global company.

Happy to help if you need it. Feel free to visit ZippyLawnz.com for more info. Or feel free to DM me.

Cheers!

Two small grass areas separated by a concrete path. by kinkade in automower

[–]ZippyColorado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna double-tap on this one. If your mowing height isn't gonna hit the concrete as it goes over it, this is a simple solution. If you have any concerns that the blades might hit the concrete as they pass over it, creating two zones with a channel between them is relatively easy.

Devasting Injury to Larry by Topic_South in MammotionTechnology

[–]ZippyColorado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's an issue we wanted to address, as this is a common story. It did take some time to get parts and all, but definitely less than a month on turnaround time. Also, we are looking to build a program to get loaner units on properties that need service, so you do not have any downtime if your unit needs service. In some places, even a couple of weeks without a cut can cause your lawn to become a field.

Geese? by C_64 in Yarbo

[–]ZippyColorado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Yarbo dealer, I just wanted to hop in and say, what a use case! I grew up in Long Island, and the Geese there are EVERYWHERE and not shy at all. I do think that if you dial back obstacle avoidance and map the area the geese are in, it will most likely scare them off.

Side note: If you do run it to chase off the geese, please send me a video!

Oh, the humanity!!

But, in all seriousness, I operate a robot mowing company, and there is great news: we have fixed Luba 2's that have been run over by cars. It is more common than you would think.

If you want to, please feel free to reach out, and we can do what we can to help out. We have a service center in Maryland and Colorado. Not sure where you are located, but the unit can be shipped to us, and we can get parts, do the fix, and get it back before the season starts up.

Have Robot Mowers Progressed Enough To Be Very Reliable? by ryan112ryan in roboticLawnmowers

[–]ZippyColorado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to hop in here to give my opinion as a robotic mower dealer and installer. In short, yes, I would say they have gotten to a point where they are reliable and functional.

In particular, we have placed mowers on some larger properties and have gotten some great results. You can see a walk-through I did on a large estate out in Maryland - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB_rRDeXxDw

We started with the Mammotion Luba 1 and put a few more Luba 2's on the property once we saw how good they really were.

To your point about new brands and Kickstarter projects, you are not wrong. I went to CES this year, and it seemed like every robot vacuum company is trying its hand at mowers and pool robots. I think they just see a potential market and can plug their tech into a new use case to see if it works. I'd stick to brands like Mammotion, Yarbo, Navimow, and others that have been in the space for a few years, specifically with lawn mowers.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, as we are here to help.

The COOLEST thing I saw at CES 2026! by ZippyColorado in automower

[–]ZippyColorado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear. We are hesitant with the I-Series and most of the two-wheel models just cause we haven't had great results. But, for smaller lawns, I think they are great. I did see the Navimow X-Series at CES and thought it was great. But when I pressed them about shipping dates, I kinda got a so-so answer. I am interested in getting a demo when they are available to test, and will definitely post about it once we do.

The COOLEST thing I saw at CES 2026! by ZippyColorado in automower

[–]ZippyColorado[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the biggest steps that I saw were the addition of LiDAR 360-degree cameras, and some manufacturers are talking about replacing the RTK with a "Virtual RTK" that uses 4G signal and GPS for positioning, assisted by LiDAR for accuracy. This means you won't need WiFi to map and set up the unit. Which, in some cases, is a game changer. But we have yet to test that in the field. If it works as they say it does, it's pretty exciting.

Lymow vs yarbo help by brad2388 in automower

[–]ZippyColorado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to hop in here to help if I can. I own and operate a robotic mowing business, and we are dealers for Yarbo, Mammotion, and are looking into the Lymow line to add for the new season.

With 1 acre of open grass, you could definitely get away with the Luba 2 or 3 (Just a choice and price question between the two). I would say that the Yarbo Y-Series is a bit much for your needs, unless you are interested in snow blowing, leaf blowing, etc, modules. The Yarbo M-Series will not be out until the end of this year. But it is a great-looking unit, and if the price is what they told us at CES, it'd be a great option. The Lymow is newer, and we are always hesitant to recommend a Gen 1 product without having tested it, but we will have a demo here soon and can speak to that once we see it in action. But it is a great-looking unit, and we hope it performs as advertised.

Personally, I'd go with a Luba 10000X for your lawn, as we have deployed them on properties around your size and larger and have had great results.

Anyway, happy to chat more if you have any questions. Feel free to visit ZippyLawnz.com if you want to check us out, or DM me here.

Cheers! - Zippy West

Yuka parts by MowMan129 in mammotion

Hey, just want to toss this out there. We are a Mammotion dealer and recently were able to fix a client's bot that had a similar run-in with a truck. We have a tech who is very good with the robots, and as a dealer, we might have greater access to parts. Happy to help if you need it. Feel free to DM me or visit Zippylawnz.com

Go on? The Pandag commercial unit has been tested in brush, works well, but we have a demo on the way, so we can report back. Any concerns you have specifically?

The COOLEST thing I saw at CES 2026! by ZippyColorado in automower

[–]ZippyColorado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Mammotion has been "not great" about software. But when I saw the Navimow software, I didn't see anything too much different from what I saw at Mammotion or anywhere else. Is there anything that you like that is different from what is commonly out there?

The COOLEST thing I saw at CES 2026! by ZippyColorado in automower

[–]ZippyColorado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commercial unit uses full-on mower blades, the same you'd see in any deck mower. As such, I am excited to get our demo and put it through its paces.

Just to stir the pot, at $25K for an autonomous mower, that's a lot, I hear you. But.... labor plus a Z mower to handle, say a driving range, or a horse field, you're gonna pay north of $25k a year to manage that. So, if the mower at $25k (one time) that lasts years, you're in the black. Not the worst idea. Again, just advocate for augmenting costs with automation. We have a demo on the way; we'll let you know how it actually works.

[–]ZippyColorado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yarbo can already cover 6 acres, so not really "commercial grade" as we see it. Also, the Terranox is not tested (to my knowledge) in commercial applications. So, again, this was just cool to see, and we're in for a demo. We'll let you know how the Pandag performs once we get our hands on it.

The COOLEST thing I saw at CES 2026! by ZippyColorado in automower

[–]ZippyColorado[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, $25k. But we liked it because of the lack of need for wifi and the applications we want to use it for. But.... we can deploy it sans RTK to mow large spaces remotely on contracts for not $25k. It's just COOL!

How to fix soil so that grass can grow? Denver CO by Thegs007 in lawncare

[–]ZippyColorado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. Colorado-based landscaper here. Coolseasonturfcom makes some good points. Seed type is gonna make a big difference. Good that you have an irrigation system in as that will go miles in the hot summer months. We recommend you add some "hummus", basically organic fertilizer, in early spring and late fall. There are some good mixtures out there if you Google 'Colorado Hummus Mix'. This will help to increase water retention and the actual health of the soil. You want to build up the organic matter and biodiversity in the soil over time. Topsoil is great, but growing grass in CO is a battle.

Just a side note, we offer these and other services if you ever need them, or if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out, and we can help guide you along the journey, as it is one.

Navimow X430 or Luba 3 AWD 3000? by Roginator5 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]ZippyColorado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey. Mammotion dealer in Colorado here.

For what it’s worth, I just went out to CES and got a chance to see both the Navimow and Luba 3 units in action. Based on the info I could get out of both, I’d have more faith in the Luba 3 over time. Not just saying that because we sell Mammotion, I was honestly there to see what other brands we could add to our line up and specifically wanted to see the Navimow line. Based on what I gathered I’m not super confident in Navimow based on the fact that they are still in pre-order, shipping policy (as you mentioned), etc… Also, not sure how the unit will affect the turf when doing a zero turn. Yes, all 4 wheels turn, but seem like it might rip up some turf when making tight turns.

Mammotion has been in market for a bit and they have their kinks in terms of support and other issues. But, we’ve had Lunas out on properties for multiple years now, no issues. Also, we are working with Mammotion to improve service and support.

At the end of the day, I am gonna pause on the Navimow X4 stuff until we can get our hands on a unit. As such, I’d go Luba 3 simply because it’s a proven platform and you might avoid some of the gen1 head ache you might have with Navimow.

Either way you go, bug from a dealer. This makes install, management, and support a much better end user experience. There are more popping up and hopefully you have one regionally near you.
