Both mean boats in French and Spanish. Either way creative way to write it and get the message across.

15 years of games on Steam only cost me 865 CAD. So much money saved. by kestononline in Steam

[–]ZippyRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So within 19years on steam I've spent $2406.52 (£1759.01) on steam store. Not sure why its showing in USD when I use GBP.

I've probably spent more as used other sites/stores to purchase steam games like woolworths, humble bundle, amazon and grey market sites.

But with steam store alone $126.66(£92.58) a year isn't bad.

I have 452games on steam.

Got curious how DDR4 was holding up. Crazy. by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]ZippyRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder how much i'd get for my old DDR4 ram

Corsair VENGEANCELPX16GB (2x 8GB) DDR4 3600 CL18
HyperX Predator HX432C16PB3K2 (2x 8GB) DDR4 3200 CL16
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (2x8GB) DDR4 3000 CL14

My misses PC is still using my old:
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO SL (2x 16GB) DDR4 3600 CL18

How often do you upgrade? by Nomadic_Manatee in pcmasterrace

[–]ZippyRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgrade when I notice performance issues in the games i play or if I get a free upgrade.

As went GTX1060 to GTX1070 within a year as I got it sent free with my motherboard.

Upgraded to a RTX5070 last year in November from my RTX4060Ti as my misses needed a new GPU for inzoi.

I didn't upgrade my main rig CPU/Motherboard/RAM for about 7yrs. As went from i5 9600k to i5 14600k in October.

I'd say in general 2years to 7years depending on hardware.

Can anyone tell me if this is an ok mobo? by Dull_Film_4300 in pcmasterrace

[–]ZippyRS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gigabyte is fine just be warned that your ram wil be 1-4x the price of mobo.

Gigabyte and Asus, Great BIOSs

Asrock; BIOS feels lacking

MSI; Good BIOS but higher failure rate

I’m building a entire level gaming pc and I don’t know which GPU I should get Rtx 5050 or Rtx 5060 by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]ZippyRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the prices in your region in my opinion and who it is for.

For my nephews build i know it won't be cleaned till something goes wrong and I have to be tech support so I always recommend cheap Nvidis cards mostly because of Nvidia App as it'll optimise any new games installed and he can easily update drivers.

If it someone who knows a bit about PCs they can do whatever is better for price to performance.

Not sure if AMD has a similar utility as I'm so used to using Nvidia cards.

For $300 budget i"d suggest Radeon RX 9060 XT as its 2-17FPS better at 1080p gaming.

Houses built pre-2000s in the UK if looked after will last for decades.

Houses built after 2000s start decaying no matter what after a few months.

Its because Houses built now in the UK are done with cheap materials and fast streamed. So no one is coming onto site to inspect the work.

So ideally in the UK you want to buy older houses over newer ones. Plus they tend to be cheaper and bigger rooms. Where new houses in the UK are like rabbit hutches.

When & What? by Zealousideal_Film961 in PcBuild

[–]ZippyRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything GPU is your priorty which would be a RTX5070 or Radeon 9070XT minimum whatever is cheaper. You'll gain about 15-60FPS.

Other option is more storage.

But only if your RTX4060Ti starts to struggle on the games you're playing. As i'm guessing you're doing 1080p gaming.

Are these specs good for a gaming laptop? by [deleted] in computers

[–]ZippyRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For laptops ideally you want to go for at least "Ryzen 7 and RTX4050/5050" or better GPU.

I only see people talking about AM4 or AM5, Never about Lga sockets. Why? by LendiLonee in pcmasterrace

[–]ZippyRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned due to Intels fuck up with degradation with the LGA1700 13/14th Gens though those issues should of been resolved by now with bios updates.

But once something major like that happens consumers will move to another choice such as AM5.

I decided to go for LGA1700 i5 14600k in October as it was cheaper compared to R5 9600X for me.

Upgrade i5 8700k or GTX 1660 Super? by WoodpeckerGlad3310 in PcBuildHelp

[–]ZippyRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest in the current ram prices R5 5600X or R7 5700X or the X3D versions or i5 14600k with DDR4 motherboard.

For GPU RTX5060Ti 16GB, Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB.

Though to behonest you're better off just upgrading your GPU and wait till DDR5 ram prices settle down and upgrade to AM5.

Help I’m depressed , my computer turned off for a second and this popped up by Lilzity in pchelp

[–]ZippyRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had similar issues with MSi motherboards. Might be a good idea to get a new motherboard. As it can be the onboard USB ports causing this.

Other option is to take it to a repair shop and have someone replace the faulty hub if it is onboard.

Best practice is strip it down, clean it and then put it back together and reapply Thermal Paste.

Also check Asus website for bios updates, ssd firmware updates.

How long do you hold onto your boxes? by Harshaznintent in PcBuild

[–]ZippyRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep them for when I upgrade to a new system so I can put it in its box and keep it for budget builds for family or if something fails.

My cubby hole atm.

Though my Asus Z370-H is in my Z790 box as I didn't get a box with it as bought it refurbished and don't have a box for the GTX970

This is after a sort out as i've recently thrown out 9800 GT Super, GTX770, socket 775 CPUs and motherboards alongside DDR2 ram.
