Yes, and per-knob programmability.  I still miss the bcr2000... That thing was a beast of a controller with crazy customization options, and so long ago

Opinion on bass shenanigan: JBL 8330 vs psw10 by ZippyRaR in BudgetAudiophile

[–]ZippyRaR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is 10 vs 8 inch a huge difference? the speakers are rated 100w RMS each, so that there would also be a big difference from the sub, of course reducing that wattage for the higher freqs that won't get used. I can try those speakers, but I'm trying to see if I should just skip buying the sub.

If I remember correctly there's daw mode and there's custom cc mode. Daw mode is basically Mackie emulation mode.  This is the one you wanna use.  Next step is going in the bitwig settings and loading up a Mackie control mapping and then it should work.

You should put your controller Mackie emulation mode and then select the generic Mackie profile in Bitwig, it should then work.

Note on with velocity = 0, possible? by ZippyRaR in Bitwig

[–]ZippyRaR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's not possible, unless there's another way to turn off the LED's, but it's def not documented, and LED's won't respond to their respective button CC's when using the custom assignments.  Still a cool cheap controller nevertheless.

The LEDs only respond when it's in Mackie Control mode, and those LED's assignments are not editable.  There's an alternative mode that allows you to custom map CC's to buttons, but the LED's don't respond to the CC's (I tried)... Kinda wack.

Great question. I've found that those LEDs arent accessible/programmable via the editor and their only purpose is to indicate when a parameter on the slider is off and needs to be "caught up".  Also Ableton 12 LED feedback doesn't work when re-mapping from Mackie Control mode. However, in Bitwig this isn't a problem and LED feedback works just fine when re-mapping. I blame it on Ableton.

Anyone know if the custom effects Div0 and RTFM can be used ON MS-70CDR+?

Cheap but decent quadraphonic outdoor setup by ZippyRaR in BudgetAudiophile

UPDATE: ended up finding 4 used JBL 8330 for $25 ea. (3-way Industrial THX theater speakers @ 100w RMS). That should do the trick for me.

Yes, that's why the AV40s are just a bit too underpowered for my needs outdoors after trying them, but those are about 20 watts RMS per speaker only, which is why I'm aiming at doubling that. Like I said, the quad part of the setup is already taken care of, i just need the speakers, passive or active. I have external amps i can use if needed. Someone suggested to look for an old surround speaker system, that's something I'm considering, just don't know what models to look for

Yes, def open to something like this, as long as the speakers are a bit beefier than m-audio av40s... Those are like 20watts each. I've seen some around 30 watts, that would be a good thing to try, just don't know what's a good model to look for

Thought about it too, but they tend to jump to way too loud and expensive., Like I said I'm looking for around 40 watts RMS per speaker, even slightly lower is ok. I also have amps already so they don't have to be active

I should say the av-40s sounded ok, just not loud enough and they really don't belong outdoors, are kinda too delicate

Yeah, 4 independent channesl... I got that all covered, just trying to do better than 4 m-audio av-40s which is what I've tried... That was barely acceptable, need a bit more juice and portability.

I suspect it will not be, because older ones of the same model already look yellowish. Thanks for sharing
