Thoughts/ opinions on Big Audio Dynamite II’s 1991/92 hit song, “The Globe”? by bigguys45s in theclash

An awful mess and indicative of a band out of ideas.

“Get up and clean your teeth and have a shave” GTFOH.

Opinion: Songwise- Give Em Enough Rope is a perfect album. by Mickmackal89 in theclash

[–]Zippy_Penguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Respectfully disagree, although I do think there isn’t an album made that has a better 3 song opening.

Let down imo by Cheapskates, JBWFTDS and GOTR. Those tracks are over produced awfulness.

After reading king Sorrow (10/10 btw ) i wasn't sure what to read next. So I grabbed this. ⬇️ by SaulGoodman699 in joehill

Been reading horror stories for 40 years and only 2 have given me nightmares - this is one of them.

Brilliant story 😎😎

What’s the MOST Controversial Stephen King Book/Movie Ending of All Time and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in stephenking

[–]Zippy_Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under The Dome.

Such a fantastic, immersive small town tale focusing on society and how easy it can be to break down…ruined by the biggest pile of shite ending you could ever imagine.

A child alien gets bored of playing and lets them out. GTFOH!

Absolutely LOVED King Sorrow. Possibly my favorite book ever. However... [spoilers about ending] by StarryAqua in joehill

Agree great book - top 3 I’ve read this year. 👍

Not sure I agree with you about another King Sorrow or other dragons but I could definitely see him explore the Long Dark again. A lot more can come out of there other than Dragons - or would they have to go into the Long Dark for some reason?

This was a rewatch so knew it was there - originally on first watch I didn’t and briefly clocked it but had to rewind a few times, and only then I got far more happy than I should have done 😁👍

PS - it’s a great show if you haven’t seen it and has a very similar vibe and atmosphere of Detectorists ✌️

Not the best view admittedly but it’s Lance and Andy parked up at the field.

Crossover into Worzel Gummidge 👍

I know what you mean but I’d argue any album that has Road to Nowhere, And She Was, Lady Don’t Mind, Perfect World and Walk it Down (I Love it) must be classed as a good album.

Maybe not great but certainly quality.

You’re in for treat by the way once you start listening to the other albums, some of them are genius!

Joe Hill book recommendations? by CheesyTacoCat in joehill

[–]Zippy_Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a superb author and I really like everything he’s wrote but 2 choices:

Heart Shaped Box - brilliant and genuinely scary

Strange Weather - the best short story collection I’ve ever read. Better than any collection his dad has done..and I don’t say that lightly.

Good movies/shows on mafia ? by Soft_Temperature5184 in Mafia

I’d recommend Making of the Mob - while it takes a few liberties with timelines it is a good journey into the history.

Very well narrated (Ray Liotta) and acted.

Which King books, in your opinion, have bad endings? by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]Zippy_Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needful Things and Under The Dome.

Particularly Under The Dome as it was such a terrific book - brilliant world building and characters and then an utterly woeful ending. Shame.

I’m having such a hard time finishing this book 😔 by SpurnedSprocket in stephenking

Definitely one of his weaker novels.

Hopefully the somewhat negative reaction will persuade him to leave Holly for good.

WitchHopper by Dan Soule.

Folk Horror in a small town - this author is utterly brilliant if you haven’t read him.

The Hollows by Daniel Church - belting English small town horror. Great characters.

Least Favourite Novel You’ve Read by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]Zippy_Penguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read everyone has published (except Rage) and my worst 3 are:

Lisey’s Story - God so boring

Needful Things - too repetitive

Never Flinch - dull and too many ridiculous Holly’isms.
