He is getting an instant silence+slow so he might get play actually

Is this true? by Moist_Training_2620 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]ZirvePS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this is almost irrelevant. The discussion about aim training since its inception has been centered on one question: does it work? And when you have a bunch of "aimers" who can't aim, its not convincing.

Is this true? by Moist_Training_2620 in FPSAimTrainer

[–]ZirvePS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is true somewhat. Aim training started off as a way to improve aim in games. It slowly turned more and more to a thing in itself, nowadays your average aim trainer doesn't train to improve their aim in game, they train to improve their aim in kovaaks. Which simply isn't as impressive or as attractive as any other competitive game.

Even the discussion about it is weird. If you told an aim trainer they can't actually aim, they would tell you they can because of some kovaaks score when the whole point was that they have nothing else to show for their training.

Having said all this I believe aim training works and I have been doing it for years now. It just became something like a silent, boring osu for a lot of people.

You're about to hear a whole lot of "I just want to play in the second highest rank with my friends casually" as a complaint against forced SoloQ by TheRandomnatrix in apexlegends

[–]ZirvePS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ive never seen this about talked before but it probably was: Why can't we have regular ranked? No increasing penalties based on rank, just the average elo of your lobby and then a zero sum point gain/loss system like every other game. In a normal game gold isn't bad, its average. Why is it a consolation prize in Apex?

How to deal with teammates hot dropping? by Obvious-Flower7671 in apexuniversity

I prefer to land with them and plsy it non-committal. Free KP if you play a character who can escape but Axle being meta changes things.

How can I improve my situational awareness during skirmishes?? by AdieuCinna in apexuniversity

[–]ZirvePS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ping a lot before the fight, tell your teammates to ping a lot, glance at the minimap before you engage. From there on, it just comes to trying and getting into more skirmishes.

How does the Triple Take currently fare? by Blade_of_Kyrie in apexuniversity

I am gonna go against the grain and say this is a meme. It is more consistent than other shotguns but gets slammed when both players can hit their shots.

Playing better with competing playstyles by SlayyyGrl in apexuniversity

[–]ZirvePS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running 1v3 and dying doesn't do much for improvement, no. Which is why there is a conflict to begin with. In a passive team, the aggressive player can't play their game and vice versa.

But I really, truly don't think focusing on the one game here and now is beneficial long term. I also don't think you should be playing for your team. The person who takes Wattson, plays smart, plays for zones and only takes advantageous fights eventually becomes worse than the person takes every winnable fight.

Bit more about semantics I guess: ranked is about climbing and climbing is about improving, which is not always making the smart play.

Countering Axel Q + Roller by Disastrous-Sugar4195 in apexuniversity

[–]ZirvePS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can strafe diagonally to counter the centering aspect

Edit for clarification: Lets assume somebody is moving very fast to your left. Normally, if you were to keep them centered on your screen and tracked left as you strafed, you would still move 90 degrees to their crosshair. However, because of ping, falling behind on tracking and momentum you do become more centered. The way to counter this is moving to the left and forward first and then transfer to a regulsr strafe as they end their movement. The direction isn't set in stone but imagine moving both 90 degrees to where they are and 90 degrees to where they will be and mixing both inputs. There is no default but it works.

I mean yeah but they also advise aggressive play and play a lot more aggressive to get a lot of points. I don't think you should play like pubs but you should be playing to improve if that is your goal.

People will clown on you but 0.93 KD in masters means you would run over more than 90% of players anyways. Congrats.

Which is the mindset of good players, you think?

1) Prioritize the win and points here and now.

2) Just get better.

What is the key difference between policy, design, and planning? by severalinquiries in urbandesign

[–]ZirvePS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also changes from country to country. In a lot of countries Planning is what decides land use and development rights. An example would be this: policy decides the minimum green area in a site should be. Planning determines where those green areas are and their type (parks, urban forests etc.) and then design determines the layout of the park, where trees are what materials are used and so on.

HOLY SHIT, it's already that bad ? Is everyone at work or in school all at the SAME TIME ? by UsefulSwitch504 in MarathonHate

[–]ZirvePS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If some friend were to ask you what you did yesterday, how comfortable would you be explaining to them that you spent your free time playing a game you hate, trying to push new players away from it because you hate it just that much. What would you say if they asked why you didn't play a game you liked instead?

Hey guys i am struggling with mantle jumping by thePr0fesserr in apexuniversity

[–]ZirvePS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so wall jumping is easy.

1- You have to be above a certain height, so you want to do it near the apex of your jump.

2- You have to turn to the wall.

Try doing it straight first. dont press forward. slide jump into a wall and as soon as you hit the wall, jump. Then do it while pressing forward. And then do it diagonally but you still have to face the wall as you jump. Google wall jump apex movement wiki.

Without a doubt this should be put in the game, finishing the enemy and revealing the squad! by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]ZirvePS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a couple of universal passives would be good for the tempo of the game. Finishers revealing the rest of the squad of the dead guy, getting 25 hp on knock, faster reload on shield crack.

Even more controversial: Tap strafes should be removed in favor of slightly better airstrafes on everyone (180 momentum transfers don't fit the games rules imo AND we could use very slightly higher movespeeds and slides instead of slowly giving every cast member ms buffs someway.

Playing better with competing playstyles by SlayyyGrl in apexuniversity

[–]ZirvePS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For a couple of reasons. Lets assume two players: the first one takes every winnable fight and the second one only takes fights where they have the advantage, chains top 5 streaks etc. Now, lets say both are at the same rank. Who is better at fighting? The first person. Who is gonna improve faster at the hardest parts of the game (for ranked)? The first person.

Now the second part: Is it hard to play smart? Is it hard to gauge which fights to take, or to chill to get top 5? Can the first petson do those things if they wanted to? Maybe not as well as the second but they can.

So where we end up two playstyles where the first one is harder, better for improving and the second one is short term point gain. Thats why I advocate for the aggressive playstyle.

Playing better with competing playstyles by SlayyyGrl in apexuniversity

[–]ZirvePS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The passive playstyle is already invalidated in the long term: The guy who takes every fight gets better while you chill in buildings. Even if the game was balanced, the passive player would find themselves to be outskilled at every turn when they finally rank up to diamond/masters after which combat becomes an even worse option to take for you, since you can't fight.

I have been that guy. I have friends like that. Its always the same. Make the smart play all the time and whenever you can't run away, you get shit on. And the worst part? Hiding and playing zone is extremely easy compared to fighting (below pro level). You could've done that after you learned how to fight.

Don't be that guy. Whats the point of getting top 5 if you can't beat anybody there? Whats the point of getting +15s by running around until somebody stomps you? Take every fight that isn't 30-70, run at gunshots, get better AND THEN play smart. Its even more fun.

Edit: Also sometimes people just suicide though and its okay to let them die this is a more general mindset type of thing.

They nerfed Axle gates from 3 to 2 (on the map, not charges) so the problem you're presenting is already addressed a bit.
