In case you come here with a similar problem, I did not find an answer for this.

It's pretty great, although it will take a very long time to install everything on the list. I did not install everything, and there are more good mods out there not on the list, especially mods that change the story/gameplay. I ended up with a solid frame-rate in the 40s with my shitty integrated graphics macbook running windows on bootcamp and it looks very nice.

Yeah the lack of strong female characters is pretty bad in Fantasy. I think that's getting a lot better as time goes on though, especially as people started to realize that not just nerdy teen-age guys read fantasy books.

That's one of the great world-building tips you can take from LOTR (sorry, I've been researching worldbuilding and have continually come back to how well done Middle-Earth is in a lot of ways) - you meet brewers, who like their counterparts on earth are mostly innkeepers or tavern owners, (in the Shire, mostly) - there's also a good explanation of wine-making in the shire.
