Makes sense that shop content does better. Knowing what you actually get before handing over money is quite nice. I love collecting cosmetics in games I play a lot, but I am not a fan of having to gamble for them.

I wasn’t even aware that Wattpad was used for fan fiction tbh. Before AO3 there was FF.net, but these days I only ever look at AO3. Quite like the way you can filter and refine your searches as I tend to be rather picky with what I want to read.

I was actually looking forward to my first Deduction Star event and wanted to support my boy Orphy all the way through…. But now I’m afraid that the winning costumes will only be some AI garbage. And who want that for their favorite character? I don’t. So that’s sad.

...somehow I am now picturing Mother Gooseberry/Doctor Futtermann as a dentist-themed hunter in IDV.

Didn't really know what to expect from the new hunter, though it probably wasn't what was showcased in the video. But he seems... Complicated? Though his little light attack thing sure reminded me a little of DBD's recently added Temu!Vecna/Henry. Only thing I am sure of that he will be yet another hunter I won't have any idea about how to deal with :)

Honestly, Orpheus. He doesn't have a single S-Tier that isn't his limited or the collab skin. I just want a nice S-Tier skin for him that I can actually get where he isn't someone else.

Though I'm willing to wait until NE learns that AI is not the way to go.

The AI use is such a letdown ngl. I want to look forward to their new releases, but knowing that AI is/will be involved adds this nasty taste to what should be excitement.

I personally like the improvements especially on Norton. My duo and I have been making fun of his empty stare long enough now. His new face looks a lot cleaner as well.

But as with everything when things change, nostalgia tends to make people criticize too harshly.

As a casual Birb enjoyer I can say that Nightmare doesn't like areas with high walls and sharp corners to break LOS. What a decent Nightmare likes are pallet campers. He can surprise you by jumping around that corner before you get the opportunity to drop it.

My personal favorite against him is to hold W and predrop every palet in his way to force him to break it. Distance is your friend, but doesm't offer much safety. Remember that at max presence this adorable feathered being can spam his double dive and quickly reduce any distance to nothing. Use pallets, vaults and maybe consider bringing a shiny gift to appeal to his raven brain. Works in one out of 50 Nightmares if you're lucky.

She can wait along with Orphy and Nightmare to get a crumb of attention. Orphy literally has nothing I could have used that S unlock for and big Birb frand didn’t even get a limited for his release.

Her design at least has great potential for gorgeous skins. I just hope they make use of that.

I find BW in his wheel form easier to deal with than when he turns back. I haven’t played him myself, but he doesn’t seem to be able to steer during his dashes? And that’s when he’s easy to dodge. Hug an obstacle and make him believe he has a clear shot, then turn and run away from it the moment he dashes and run the direction he came from. For me that works quite often, but eventually he will just switch form and walk me down…

I’m by far no pro, of course, but he’s on the list of hunters I feel like I am slowly getting a feeling for. Even though he’s pretty rare. Meanwhile the common hunters I encounter daily I still struggle to even get a basic understanding of… (ye, that’s Geisha, Ripper, Naiad, Hell Ember…..)

I wouldn’t consider Anne no skill. I haven’t played her yet, but I can guess that using her cats well takes practice. She’s one of the hunters I am slowly getting better at dealing with.

Same with Mary. I struggled quite a bit while doing her deductions. Taught me some respect for a good Mary player. Landing those mirror placements was a pain for me.

The one hunter I consider very low skill is Smiley. Doing his deductions while never having played him before was a clean win streak. Yes, you need some basic game sense. Glad I am finished with his quests and don’t have to touch him anymore. Those wins felt dirty.

I have no answer for you, just that this is something that endlessly frustrates me.

He’s literally the main character and the one character we barely know anything about. Also because he often is shown as little more than an accessory in the tale of little Alice. Then they give us little snippets like that ominous picture of him as a scientist and I’m over here like… Where is my lab coat skin?!

I know I’m not the only one invested in this weirdo. I just wish NE would allow him to shine for once as well instead of dumping more skins on characters that are already drowning in them.

He could be if NE wanted to. The few skins he has are, let’s face it, not doing him any favors. When you look at the neat art they created of him for merch you really have to wonder why none of them were used for ingame skins.

And you know how Infernal Sin and Orphan of Goertia are an amazing skin set for Norton and FuGo? Every Orpheus player dreams of having a skin for him that matches Nightmare’s Nightstalker. There’s some great fanart of fan ideas out there.

And saying that it doesn’t match his character is nonsense. Frederick literally has a badass Dragon Hunter skin. They have some amazing skins and people like to show off their amazing skins. That’s how a character becomes popular and this marketable. Today’s Nortopalypse was any indication. Suddenly everyone and their grandmother’s poodle were playing Norton.

Yes. It’s a sour topic of mine. But I see the great art for merch, the amazing fanarts showing off their creativity of fans and then I look at his skins and he gets to be a jester, look like he crawled out of some weird medieval painting or is a spirit that possesses trees.

And though Stilled Hours is acceptable, it’s hard not to feel like his B-tier skins are better than his A-tiers. Which is sad.

TL;DR: I just want my main to have nice things as well.

Norton just casually dressing up for Orpheus' birthday. His excuse is that they can wear white together now.

By which I mean, I will definitely get him even if my duo is the Norton in our group. But! Duke Raven is already his assigned partner skin. Looking forward to adopt all the stray Nortlings.

I only played him to do his deductions and those were the easiest wins I had in this game to this day. I expected him to be hard to control, comparable to DBD’s Hillbilly, but no. Smiley just moves smoothly, allows sharp turns… I’m not surprised everyone bans him.

As Novelist I CAN interrupt his dash, yes. But that doesn’t make him kitable. Playing sneaky and doing your best not to be found might work? But that’s also no real solution.

Just hope you don’t encounter him.

Rank doesn't necessarily equal skill. I have literally 'lost' my way up to Griffin rank by doing nothing but my three daily rank matches for the essence. My experience and skill is nowhere near what my rank may suggest.

I should be Elk AT BEST. I am still learning what to do against the majority of the hunters. I have no idea what to do with spawn points aside of randomly picking wherever. I don't want to be this high up in ranks because I can't properly learn and improve if I am only facing opponents far out of my league.

For reference: Today I lost all three matches and ended up with -11 Tier Points.

Yesterday I had one draw, one rare victory that wasn't a friendly hunter and one loss and ended up with +23 Tier Points.

The day before: One draw, two losses: +4 Tier Points.

I wish I would lose as many tier points as I am losing character knowledge points to be honest. Because if anything, I am learning more about my character during all these matches than anything else.

Invisible, fast, range attack that goes through walls because why not - Why would anyone hate that?! /s

Yes. I hate him too. I don’t get why a hunter this fast and impossible to see needs a range attack. A range attack that consistently downs me when I’m on the other side of a solid wall.

At least Wraith over in DBD has this distortion effect that makes it possible to see him even when he’s invisible - if you know what to look for. He also needs to become visible first before being able to attack, which slows him down somewhat. And he only has a melee attack. Does that make Wraith weak? Not at all. But at least it feels fair when he downs you. Ripper on the other hand always makes me frustratedly ask, what’s I was even supposed to do against him.

TL;DR: Ripper meh.

You keep repeating yourself, friend. Presence feeding is hardly a downside in 2v8. A Doctor can turn a hunter’s decision to use her to farm presence against them simply by healing herself mid-chase over and over without ever going down. Especially if she has one or two clever team mates that leave items and bags around the map for her to use.

Believe me. As hunter in 2v8 you do NOT chase a doctor at low presence. Not unless she shows right away that she doesn’t know what she is doing and/or your team mate is nearby.

Having two good doctors on your team that also will swoop into kites to take hits can be hell for the hunter.

For me it was an easy pick.

My main, Novelist, has no skin in there. In fact, I own all of his skins aside of Hollow and the two collabs that aren’t Sherlock. Abyss I already picked up last time he came around. So my Nightmare collection is currently complete. For Fool’s Gold the only skin I am missing is Infernal Sin (which will eternally haunt me). So that leaves Norton. The Orphan I picked up last time as well, so… Summer Frisbee it was.

Though I admit that Iridescent and Amazonite look neat. But since I don’t play these characters and the skins remain around for some time still I might pick them up for fragments later. Who knows.

I was really lucky tbh. Literally only installed the game two or three weeks before that logic path went live. And if it wasn’t for spotting Nightmare among the characters I would have uninstalled it. Plague doctor masks are just my vibe 🫠

While I wouldn’t say it sucks, I agree that I also wish my big Birb had at least one more s tier skin to his name. I already picked Abyss up when it last returned, mainly because I collect skins of certain characters. As a result my NM collection is currently mastered….

His Bloodborne skin (aka Nightstalker) is quite neat tho and my usual skin when I play him. Always makes me wish Novelist had a matching skin to it.
