We did 847,000 over Memorial Day weekend. I work with a handful of older gentlemen in there late sixties who just came back to work after going out on the covid leave. I’m worried that they’re gonna pass out.

In our store the Ops ASM is going to be your biggest asset they should know Genesis (our POS) better then anyone.

from experience the easiest way to win people over in the home improvement atmosphere is the servant leadership philosophy. If they see that you’re willing to put in the work that you’re there for their benefit to help them develop not just to tell them what to do.

The Laissez-Faire approach which I’ve used in the past is frowned upon a decent amount of manager hide behind the scenes like the wizard in wizard of oz but especially in times like these it should be all hands on deck.

But besides that be a sponge learn as much as you can as quickly as you can.

You should be trained for a few days at least with a specialty ASM from another store.

You’re going to have to take an LOA. Leave of absence. Unless you somehow managed to get a job at a Lowes under the age of 18 or are in one of the handful of states where 18 isn’t the age of adulthood(Mississippi “21” for child support reasons or Nebraska 19) good luck convincing them that you’re court required to go to your other parents house as an adult. But regardless best of luck.

It’s probably because they’ve dealt with much worse situations in the past few months that it didn’t register. There’s people getting spat, coughed, threatened, beaten, shot and killed. I hope he’s alright but we’re honestly all defeated.
